It's hard to get started on throwing things out.
But it is beneficial.
I normally throw out anything not tax deductible and over 2 years old, if I really don't need it. But my house is full of things that I really want to keep. The other problem is my relatives own this house. If I throw things I don't want out, I get a bit of a tongue lashing from them. Mum does not want me to throw out any of the tupperware containers that I have cluttering my kitchen cupboards. A couple years ago, I tried to throw out a chair frame that was in the way. One night, I tripped over the chair frame that I did not know was there. Nearly, a week later, after putting the chair in the bin, I rediscovered the chair frame back on the ground under the house, as my mother announced that it makes for a good frame to put a plastic bucket inside. (WTF???). I put the chair frame back in the bin, right in front of my mother's witness, and gave no uncertain terms about its worthlessness -- pointing and telling about my sores from tripping over the frame earlier.
Though, I really need to clear out stuff that I don't want anymore. Much of my recycling does not get done for at least a month. I will put the rubbish bin out every fortnight. Whilst the recycling gets done every month. But the recycling usually piles up until I figure I need to clear the bench of soft drink cans and milk bottles for the recycling.
All I really need to do is sort my clothing out, reorganise my books, dvds, and cds. Then I can sort out the things that I don't need.
