'Former Labor leader Mark Latham has called for welfare recipients to lose their social security after 12 months if they don't bother learning basic English.

The media commentator has returned to Fairfield, in Sydney's south-west, six months after asking native Arabic and Vietnamese speakers on the streets if they spoke English, only to find nearly all of them didn't'.

Local politicians dare not upset these foreign communities in our Sydney suburbs for fear of losing re-election, thus highlighting the political system is not fit for purpose but is just static window-dressing with no-guts-no-balls to challenge the status quo.

it is sad I agree.. but we need to do more to keep them in their own country   whats happening is a bullies are diving all the young able men out of their countries  most of the refugees are males...the old  and weak are left behind   they bring the kids for sympathy......the UN as I say is a disgrace  they do bugger all to keep these countries safe.... they wait until there is a huge human crisis  and then they start whining countries like Australia dont do enough....

it terrible the way these countries end up being rubble and full of land mines  but was does the UN do about it??????.
