but I believe he has a right to know because you have announced his intent in public on this forum....

its not hard to work out how much damage can be done just by mention of a name....as you have pointed out..

now you have mentioned his name.....and as I have pointed out

I had to defend my name... and really I should not have had to do that>..

to tar everyon with the one brush is not a nice thing to do and when they ask for evidence the least you can do is show it..

sending it to fd should not be a problem....

AiA has a right to know what you are referring too..

and I would do the same thing if you accused me in public of being part of that..

you cannot have a bet each way aussie... if you want a level playing field and you want everyone to demand better treatment from fd.....then you sir must practice what you preach.

It has been sent to FD, cods, about five days ago. I also sent him proof of my real ID, which I ought never have had to do. I should never have been forced into that position by these people who posted references to, and then links to my real name, photo and FaceBook page.

Cods, in one Thread (which is still visible to all) there are TEN references to my real name and AiA made FOUR of them.

I am only conveying to you John, what was set up by Set and FD. No member names in thread titles in the main forum, and no member's names in signature blocks. You will probably have noticed that FD moves such threads to Relationships. I usually move them to Extremism exposed

It is not up to me to develop any strategies Mothra, that is the responsibility of the board owner. As a part time moderator I try to follow those. As always, if you feel this board is not living up to your high standards and expectations then you have a course of action readily available to you.

No there is not. FD has expressed he doesn't want people's names in thread titles and he usually moves them to Relationships. There is a "rule" (if you like) about people's names in signatures that was set up by Set

His direction to us was he does not want member's names in thread titles in the main boards. He leaves the member run boards to the Mod of that board to run. As I stated, if it is the main boards, he wants them moved to a member run board

As a member of this forum, i would like to think i am somewhat protected.

I can't speak for FD in that regard.

I did, days ago.

It was obvious to me at the time that something had been planned and that the comments in that Thread were a deliberate prelude, as it was proven, to the events of last Sunday when my real name, in full, photo, and FB page were posted, and cheered on by skippy, AiA, Super Nova, Agnes and to a less extent, one other Member.

As soon as it started, I sent PMs to FD and the GMods. Vic, you might recall, challenged me for proof of my claims. That is when I sent a copy of my driver's licence to Setanta and Gandalf, in whom I have some trust.

My My, feeling the heat? Firstly, privacy is an individual responsibility, so if a person's details get posted on here, one should wonder how those details became public in the first place. In the case of Facebook etc, it sounds like the user has not followed well published advice on how to limit unwanted exposure.

You may have noted that when I became aware of Aussie's concerns I moved the thread whilst he hid the one in Relationships. I also made FD aware of what had occurred and advised Aussie what I had done

I wonder why you keep setting yourself up for failure Mothra. You do not appear to have a full appraisal of most situations and invariably go off half cocked. Even Aussie would agree that I acted as soon as I became aware. I have also put forward to FD my thoughts on a way ahead, but he alone makes the decisions

As always Mothra the choice is yours here. If you don't like the forum as it stands then you have a valid course of action. Just as if a meal in a restaurant is not to your liking you can leave and not return - you always have that choice here. Empower yourself Mothra and make a decision. It is no use constantly banging your head against a wall that probably won't move. It is time perhaps, to move on

Feeling the heat was mainly directed at your comment re sending out emails. As for privacy, we should ALL be concerned about our own privacy Mothra. You only have to look at people's profiles where some mention the town they are from. Also, reading threads , you would also notice that a lot of people - including myself at times - post way too much information that once collated can very easily lead to privacy being invaded. If I were, for instance, to discuss with you action I have taken against other posters, would that not be an invasion of their privacy.

What possible reason would I have to threaten you Mothra? How has anything we have discussed to date been in any way threatening? I take grave offence at that remark, and urge you to back up your question with solid facts.

I have tried to answer your questions to the best I can Mothra, but in most cases have been met with derision and snide comments. If you can't indulge in adult conversation Mothra, perhaps you should rethink your position as a member of a great Forum.

That's fine Cods and thankyou. The problem is of course that we are not on here 24/7 so if something does occur then it could be a while before action can be taken - as occurred yesterday. If I am working, I usually have the board running in the background but sometimes I forget to check so it can be some time before I notices PMs or that something is occurring

You only have to look at people's profiles where some mention the town they are from. Also, reading threads , you would also notice that a lot of people - including myself at times - post way too much information that once collated can very easily lead to privacy being invaded. It is not perfectly normal for people to go out of their way to ID a Member, then let others know of the details, and they all then celebrate the harvest by posting initially references to my name (that was last week...all reported by PM to FD and GMods - including you) and then WHEN NO ACTION was taken about that, last Sunday the full name, photo and FB page is posted here to the active cheering of those I have already mentioned. Agnes, for example, posted that I 'deserved' it.

They are the only two threads I was made aware of, what else did you want me to do in trying to protect the privacy of the party concerned? Not at all Aussie, I have a FB page. In terms of privacy though I have mine locked done as much as I can. You FB page is not secure Aussie - it still isn't. I can advise you by PM how to fix it if you wish. I have no idea however how any of your other personal details ended up here.

They are the only two threads I was made aware of, what else did you want me to do in trying to protect the privacy of the party concerned? I took action on some posters and put it all in an email to FD. What else did you want me to do?

well if it was me I would have banned everyone who I suspected was involved or who had encouraged that sort of behaviour. At least temporarily. It should not not be tolerated and it should not be encouraged.

How do you know that hasn't occurred to the primary ones concerned?

I can only speak of what I can observe. And it looks like all of the main characters, except for Nef, are still here so that's a pretty good bet it didn't occur.

well done but I'm not sure that was enough. It looked to me like more than one person were in on it... if not pre the fact they certainly encouraged it after the fact, and so far with the exception of one, they're all still here.

Why is it engaging with personal criticism a banable offence but not engaging in revealing a members real identity? It just doesn't sound right to me.

John I moved the thread and all the banter within. Aussie moved or hid the one in Relationships. They are the only two threads I was made aware of, what else did you want me to do in trying to protect the privacy of the party concerned? I took action on some posters and put it all in an email to FD. What else did you want me to do?

well if it was me I would have banned everyone who I suspected was involved or who had encouraged that sort of behaviour. At least temporarily. It should not not be tolerated and it should not be encouraged.

How do you know that hasn't occurred to the primary ones concerned?

I can only speak of what I can observe. And it looks like all of the main characters, except for Nef, are still here so that's a pretty good bet it didn't occur.

Anyone here didnt do anything. Unless you want me banned for not giving a poo about the asshole. Roll Eyes
