i think you are probably a bit smarter then "fat steve" bojack.
see fat steve wouldnt even understand stuff like the "narrow road to success" or "its not what you get, its what you become".
he is a total durrr.

but there is a glimmer of recognition in you that i am right.
but if you acknowledge it, you will have to undergo a lot of change and your subconscious likes to keep things stable, so you "react" most aggressively towards it.

i always find the most aggressive people who push back against the 'personal responsibility" and "self development" stuff are those who know they should be doing it but arent. because that really stings.

fat steve doesnt get stung. you will never get thru to him except if a total bloody catastrophe happens.
but there is some hope for you.
you could possibly ease yourself into it.
what would you have to lose  Wink

I do enjoy your posts Bojack and you to Barnacle.
You do have a good head on your shoulders Bojack, it shows in your posts.
But there are many types of 'thinking'.
Take 'education system' for one thing.
There are the boys who attend Kings and get the path of success laid out for them. All that they have to do is not think for themselves and just follow the path (rules/discipline) and they will succeed.
Then there are the boys which attend a school that is just a day care facility for lack of funds. These boys need more than that and thus they go out and cut their own path by making mistakes (for want of doing nothing at all).
When the path runs out, the boys from Kings just stand there at its end waiting for someone to continue the path for them, while the other boys just cut ahead clearing a path for themselves regardless if it is in the right direction or not.
Both are right. Both have advantages and disadvantages.
And that's just two examples.

Anyway, I'm waffling. What do I know. I'm just a labourer.  Wink

I used to wag school in Mt Druitt (take a breather from the fighting) and hang out in University Libraries at the age of 10 - doing a lot of reading & research, long before people get to Uni to learn how to research. I miss the card system - it was so much more 'booksy'. Did that for many years.

Shame they never had an emphasis on Tourism, except for School Excursions - to which I took often of my own accord.

I nominate The Grappler - blows 'em out of the park with his reason, decency, courage under fire, boundless knowledge, intellect, and endless sense of humour... often puts the case so succinctly that very few can follow ... a sign of the decline in intelligence in this nation under the politically correct sky....

On top of that he provides entertainment unparalleled .... with videos and appropriate music .... and NOT ONLY THAT - but he provides links for the thinking people here......

Someone asked for a link to the OUTSIDE PREVERT activist, not even a local Boong, who came to Ayers Rock and cut chains.... I provided.... now for your next wish, master.. remember - only two left....

Hard work but someone has to do it.. even if the sheep here don't bother to read FACTS.... lest it interfere with their trolling and their vapid world view....

Oh - and he's modest as well...   Huh

Cods got it in a nutshell with her superb 'Relationship' skills and knowledge.
Yes - I've got 'friendly' with many female members here.
Some, become really good friends.
Other's just freak!  Grin
But the irony is that I am happily Celibate...
...which shows by the fact that 'nothing' has actually happened (in the end).
It's all 'tongue in cheek' (your tongue pushing the inside of my cheek  Cheesy ). Other times - its just all serious me without a hint of masculinity thrown, during discussions (which is a majority).
I don't take it too far - problems arise.
Just a metre from time to time.

Of all the female members on here. Not one really is 'suitable' for me (nor would I really expect them to put up with the likes of me, if it went that far).

For starters - not one of you 'Dives'.  Wink
So how am I gonna get my dick wet - huh?! Huh

You don't necessarily need a Masters (is that a Woolworths one?) Degree or have been a best selling Author to make good Posting.
Sometimes is all about 'timing' and 'style', use of words, tact and when to be serious and humorous.

There are quite a few contenders here on this Forum.
Consistently enough - that its just time before they become Poster of the Week!

Yeah - but too modest to accept an award.... (shucks)....

I used to cop heaps on Yahoo.... of awards that is.... I once ran a Presidential election for Yahoo Gender Studies, and a woman won ... this joint is dead... let's scram, Igor, and do the washing up and then shower.... that old back door is all fixed and fits nicely now, and all the old brass fittings polish up very well.... electrician tomorrow for that back room and Bob's yer uncle.... nice little air conditioned enclave and usable as a fourth bedroom for when the grand-kids come down over Christmas hollies.... oops ... Happy Holiday Non-Muslim Time.... don't want to offend the Mussos and their running dogs.....

POSTER OF THE WEEK
award
goes to

YE GRAPPLER !!!!

Cool
What can we say. His posts are humble!
This is the 3rd Award to be given and with tradition and superstition in award ceremonies - we are proud to say that this 3rd award was in no way influenced by corruption, bias, money ($10), more bias and 'who you know' voting.
It's about up-front honesty and integrity.

Congratulations Ye-Grappler!!!
You have achieved the impossible.  Wink

This one deserves a speech!
"So Ye-Grappler. How did you do it and do you wish to thank your parents??"

Yadda
&
It_is_the_Light
are remarkably similar in their posting subject matter and approach. Maybe they might 'share' an award one week. They can hold it hand in hand together?

Anyway.
Where's that
Ye-Grappler
to accept his award? Huh

ATTENTION:

Ladies & Gentlemen. There has been a bit of a controversial ruling. As Ye Grappler did not 'accept' his award for Poster of the Week. It has come down to the Award having been 'voided' for the first time in the Award's history!
Sadly, we must move on and now present the Award for Poster of the Week to...

POSTER OF THE WEEK
award goes to

SAPPHO

for his great 'comeback'!!!!

Well done Sappho!  Smiley
