I've built it up over the years. The soil in my area is hard clay so I've built a raised garden bed. I run a winter selection of plants and when I harvest  I always mix in 2 large bags of chook pooh to keep the nutrients up.

I finally pulled out that unsuccessful tomato plant.
The roots seemed OK even though the plant was so tiny.

I chose that area of the lawn because it dipped down severely.
I always had the intention to improve it.

I dug out all the good potting mix and filled the hole with compost.
I then spread the potting mixture out over a much wider area
then sprinkled half a cup of grass seed -
watered it then put more potting mix on top -
then more water.
Hopefully I'll have a much better - flatter area when it all grows back?
