Lay off the god damn porn sites, Herb. Geesh you would think the nurses at your home would have such sites blocked by now.

If you're running Windows, I'd say do a clean re-install and keep up with your Micro$oft security updates.

I think so.

But! I've solved the problem with 'AdwCleaner' fetched from Bleeping Computers.

A clean/install is a bugger that takes up time and temper - although it's true that I now have my system and files fully backed up to an external hard drive.

The AdwCleaner app has saved my ass on a number of occasions in the past. Brilliant, effective, and free.

I feel your pain. It took me ages to get bing off my computer last time it got infected with it.

My pain is not over with yet.

They're BAAAAAAAAAAACK .... Clicking something takes me to ...

'ZAFUL'

'flirt-and-sex.com'

'putrr18.com'

...  and a lot more.

The AdwCleaner didn't do the job after all.

fingers crossed

The ONLY time I've been redirected to advertising sites has been when I'm at the online UK Daily Mail website. No porn involved at all from my side of the keyboard.

But you might be right about a clean/install.

Keep trying - there must be a way to get rid of it.

Herb, you appear to like play technical so this is what I did when I had this problem. from memory.

- I looked for tools to remove them, none worked
- I looked at installs and found an install of some software was done without me knowing, it must have come with something else. - Uninstall everything from around the time this happened
- I had to then look at startup and remove them from start up
- Even after uninstall there where exes handing around, delete them
- Delete all Browser addins you don't recognize
- Also it was sneaky, it had 2 separate installs each reinstalling each other so I had to do both at th same time
- Clear all cookies
- Reboot

Herbus the Slurbus more than likely has a Trojan worm that is redirecting him to other nefarious sites. No "free" anti-malware mumbo-jumbo is going to remove it other than a clean reinstall.
