just a small modicum of revenge .... no where near enough what should be dealt out to him, but anything is better than nothing.

Revenge only has bad outcomes. It serves no purpose other that appealing to people's baser emotions.

On the scales, it's a bad thing.

bad outcomes for bad people .... I can live with that.

of course it appeals to emotions. There is nothing wrong with taking care of your emotions. That's why we have them.

But the bad outcomes aren't just for bad people. What do you think brutalising people achieves? What is it's impact? What of the precedent set by allowing vigilante justice or victimisation to occur to people in protective custody?

Violence only ever leads to more violence.

And there is nothing wrong with being emotional .. but when your emotions lead you to desiring the pain and terror of another living being, i think you need to reflect. I don't think that's good for anyone.
