"The UNHRC addresses human rights-related situations in all UN member states. The UNHRC also addresses important thematic human rights issues such as freedom of association and assembly, freedom of expression, freedom of belief and religion, women's rights, LGBT rights, and the rights of racial and ethnic minorities".

Which countries are sitting on this Human Rights council that is 'grilling' Australia?

umm ... yes, folks ... Saudi Arabia is one of them.

Pitiful.

It is.  And in today's news Robert Mugabe appointed as a goodwill ambassador for the World Health Organization.

The UN does some good stuff in the field of vaccination programs and providing food for famines but beyond that is mostly a joke and a wind farm.

Well you can shoot the messenger but still would they question us if they didn't have such a strong case. The bottom line is that they are right we have abused human rights.

I think we'll get over it.

Being accused of human right abuses by the UN council for human rights is like being accused of being a little aggressive by martin bryant.

Fkk the UN, pack of useless bottom feeders who are all talk and no action, so it the eyes of the socialists a wonderful organisation.

I dont have any time for the UN   or Human Rights..

here they are complaining about something said in 2015.. Roll Eyes Roll Eyes...great!  no mention of whos fault it was children were placed in detention???..

no mention of what countries drove these children out so they became refugees of the world   and everyone elses responsibility except their birth countries??????

yes lets grab a few word said by of course a righty in 2015.....and make that an aberration of human rights... Angry

so much easier for these world organisations..
that I am sure are hungrily taking any money Australia throws their way... Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyesoooops yearly membership contributions.. Roll Eyes

when I see these groups... [who ever they are]   digging wells in the middle of darkest Africa....or handing out condoms... let me know...

they will then get my respect...  Angry

in the mean time we are such a soft target...

tell me there is no   suffering in Turkish refugee camps for children..... tell me there are no children working in garbage dumps trying to make a living....tell me they have stopped child slavery everywhere.......please!

How about Australians having the Human Right to chose who comes to this country by way of immigration and refugees influx, and in what numbers per annum?

49% of Australians polled said they don't want any further Muslim immigration ... How about their Human Right to be acknowledged in government policy?

And further to that, there really is no such thing as a 'Human Right'.

It's a fiction that Lefties have pulled out of their arse.

However, I do agree that the Australian government has abused the Human Right of aborigines to be treated in exactly the same way as the average working person in this country.

Years of Cargo Cult gifting to the aborigines has bred in them the idea that they are entitled to a free lunch and welfare support from cradle to grave.

The number of Indians now being crammed into Sydney is at epidemic proportion to the effect that international tourists must wonder if they've been correctly disembarked in Australia or a city in subcontinental India.

I was out-and-about today on my electric bicycle and I'll swear within a few years all the road-signs will be in both English and Indian.

Yes the UN is far from perfect but it isn't about them. It is about us living in a country that is honest has integrity and does not abuse human rights, a country that we should be proud of instead of ashamed.
