NBN
Oct 18th, 2017 at 4:26pm

I just got an email from my ISP telling me that the NBN will soon be in "my street" ...

Click on this and they will ring me. Can hardly wait. Grin

I am not under any contact, as such, have been with them for about 10 years or so ... I don't want to pay any more than I already do ....

Do I have a choice? I believe that I do not. Once NBN is in your street, tough luck.

You'll have time to switch over to the NBN.

You don't have to do it the minute they connect it to your house.

I think you have 12 months to decide on a provider.

I presume that my "provider" of 10+ years knows who I am.

I don't need "faster" internet, I am happy with what I have and I don't want to pay more for the NBN.

I currently pay $39.95 for ADSL2 with 100GB "free" downloads, I'm lucky if I download 3GB A MONTH... internet only.

I use a different provider for my MOB and have a Telstra landline. Not worth me "packaging" stuff.

use the comparison link I gave you above ... and your telstra line will be cut off when you switch to NBN. But most NBN plans have free voip calls anyway

Mr Smith, to quote someone..."That's all Chinese to me."

We/I pay $125.00 per month for land line, internet, and mobile.

Where is your comparison?

Here, I've given you a medium speed, which will be faster than what you use now Just in case you want to movies  etc. You can change the search options to suit yourself.

None of the plans on that site include mobile. For that sort of bundle you'll need to talk to each provider separately.

You'll have to connect eventually, as the old system with be switched off 18 months after the NBN is activated in your street.

I pay $90 per month for unlimited data and unlimited phone calls, and that comes with Fetch TV and about 37 free channels (which I don't use).

"Keep in mind once you receive confirmation to switch, you will have approximately 18 months to move before the existing network is switched off."

It's already here Davo.  My problem is that what I have (ADSL) now works fine, and I am being forced to agree to connect an inferior product at an increased cost.

Schits me.

Yep I am in the same boat I was thinking a 5/25 plan was the best I could get but after asking questions on Whirlpool and Monk confirmed a 50/10 is very likely. I have a fair idea you are in  Queensland the best advice I can give is make an account and ask questions

I have 25/5, and it works fine.

I use it for Netflix, Stan, and YouTube, and never get any buffering.
