Actually you're wrong.

AiA's example was not that a man left his wife for as you put it, putting on weight. He left his wife because she was as big as a house

Putting on weight suggests a few KGs.
AiA's example is that the woman became morbidly obese.
Very different.

I did once tell my wife that if she got fat I'd send her back to Romania. Cheesy

SHe got back into her size 10 jeans the day after giving birth to my second.
Of course, we both knew I was joking.

of course I wouldn't leave her for getting fat.

However if you forget the asthetics of it all, women who become obese can get lazy and inactive. A woman who was active, always doing something, always going somewhere, can become a couch potato ... that I think is a bigger turn off for a guy especially when that 'activeness' was part of the original attraction to her.

Exactly. It's not just about the weight, it's the personality and lifestyle change and the weight is just a symptom.

a wonderful story- a young women I knew of but not personally- she piled on a bit of weight after having her baby- you could shee she was pretty and wore the fat clothes and one day she decided she was sick of being chunky and hit the pool- omg she was stunning and I hardly recognised her at first- I bet her hubby was sorry he taunted her into getting thin- she was back and she was a definite 10- empowerment 101
