Grab 'em by the antenna and pull the back section. Good fun.

What's wrong with you? Seriously?

I understand reality.

Your interpretation of reality is most alarming.

You do know that you get nice juicy lemons to squeeze on your tofu because Farmer Joe kills stinkbugs? Huh

There is considerable difference between killing something and taking delight in slowly torturing it to death for your amusement.

22 I got off my lemon tree today.

Into the bucket they went then squashed with a hand spade.

22 ! That is a lot.

I wear protective glasses and squash them between 2 small blocks of wood.

Often do it 3 or more times on the same tree till they become rare.

It's weird the different types you get. There's the big black buggers. They have some power and struggle hard before decapitation. They make that funny noise and give their position away the silly things. Ever notice how they buzz and vibrate upon capture. 20 blackies in a sherry bottle would make the perfect female marital aid.  Then you have the orange ones with the black spot. Them buggers you have to keep an eye on because in my experience they are the squirters. Then you have the green ones with the black spot. They are the young ones and are nice and juicy. They are the perfect candidate for a stink bug scarecrow because they stay alive a while when skewered.  It's an interesting place the garden and all matter of fun  can be had. Smiley

I got 10 off the lemon and 5 off the kaffir lime today, and one of the little koonts sprayed me in the eye,  the left eye which has a pterygium so it really bloody hurt!

Off to bunnings to buy some stink bug killer tomorrow.

Hmm - my Myer lemon is going great guns and no bugs.... the lime is leafy but only had a little flower.. hmmmm... supposed to be a fruit lime not a leaf lime... spinach is magnificent.. carrots are fine... potatoes are coming along... tomatoes are strong and green and - well - a bird must have dropped the seed since we've got a phantom button tomato..... hmmmmmm ... egg plants are laden.... passion fruit and peach are kicking along this year.... strawberries are kicking in and banana trees are growing at a rate of knots... herbs are always solid....

And that wraps up our gardening report from Grapplersville....

Sounds good, are lemons starting to form on yours yet? Mine is only 1.5 years old so this will be my first crop.

Apart from the lemon and kaffr lime, I only have parsley which is going great. I get a huge bowl twice a week.

Well the stinkbugs are running amok on my lemon tree but I have a brand new way to get rid of them.

I get the wet and dry vacuum out and suck them all up. I got heaps of them today, then sucked up some water then tipped them all down the drain.

why?

These bugs can do a lot of damage to citrus trees as they suck sap from new shoots and flower stems, causing shoots to wither, and crop losses. The secretion is very caustic and can burn foliage. Stinkbugs are commonly seen on citrus trees from winter onwards where a prolonged dry spell has caused water stress

Sounds like the Monkey Maniacs. They're Stink Bugs!
