With Waters leading, funnily enough.

With all these cars 'in fuel trouble' needing a 'safety car' event.....and suddenly 'safety care' events happen.....I get a tad suspicious about paid sacrifices.

Yes, agreed.

Was a good race, though.

Reynolds did well.

A Ford slipped into 3rd place, which made me happy.

Holden did well, though.

Driver of the day, for me, was Van Gisbergen.

What 'Holden?'  What part of that car....was 'Holden?'  The badge?  (What part of the 'Fords' were 'Fords,' as well.)

OOps Sorry.
I thought this was a Topic that had a lot of interesting comments from many members of this Forum.
Didn't know it was just two Rat-Packers having some quiet time together.
Once again MY SINCEREST APPOLOGIES and I will now leave.
(most embarrassed  Embarrassed )

You make a really good point.

If they had run out of fuel, it would have been a real anti-climax.

That second last safety car seemed to come along at just the right time.

This is big money, and I have no doubt that there is corruption involved.

To think otherwise, would be extremely naive.

Still, i enjoyed the race.

If you are a complete cynic like me, it is an obvious point.  Those 'safety car' events were timed beautifully for the cars who did not take a fuel break and 'rode their good luck.'

As they say....'You make your own luck.'

I recall one year a driver ran out of fuel cause he took that risk.

It was a few years ago though, I haven't watched Bathurst in ages.

Sorry to barge in again.
I just forgot to say that I'm sorry for trolling your Topic here and disengage it from its true intention.
But I couldn't help but say that I find it deeply offensive that a bunch of you NERDS (ex Bojack) think you have the right to even discuss Bathurst.
Punching above your weight?
If it helps - there is a 'slot-car' race down at the Markets this weekend. I'm sure you can all play "Broom-broom" there.

Adios!  Wink

Why gamble?  If Team A is ferked and no chance of winning, why would a Manager/Owner of said Team not go to Manager of Team B whose car is in deep fuel schit and offer to prang Team A's car to ensure a 'safety car' event.

Or am I expecting too much of human nature when there are huge dollars at stake?

Given how much it usually costs to repair a car, I doubt any team would do that.

Have to admit though I haven't found Bathurst all that interesting since 1992. Bring back the turbos.

Yesterday's race was one of the better ones in recent years.

It has been quite boring recently.

And the presenters are quite annoying, at times.

I thought the worst was the pitlane reporter. Just no sense of occasion at the end.

I saw the 12 hour in 2014, there. Those are the cars I lvoe.
