Are you asking if I'm defending the Koran, FD, or if I'm defending your porkies?
I'm curious. I'm keen to know what you think.
If it's the former, I find the discussion on offering refuge and demanding donations lacking. However, I'm not sure why the rules of war are included in the Koran at all.
At no point does the Koran give followers free-rein to go out and kill people. At the very least, you can understand from reading these verses that the Koran does not encourage its followers to kill believers, but that's just what ISIS and assorted terrorists do.
You can see from your own quotes that what Islamist terrorists do is against the rules. No Muslim can defend it.
Now you should know by now, FD, that I'm completely amoral. I'm a hideous spineless jellyfish, an Islamic blowfly. If you're a Muslim, good - be the best Muslim you can be. Pray, have faith, give charity, fast, visit Mecca. If you believe in freedom, that's good too. Promote freedom for all - freedom of trade, movement, speech. Practice John Stuart Mill's maxim: do what you want, as long as it doesn't bother anyone else. Be honest. Debate, discuss, answer questions. Get involved.
And if you believe in the supremacy of the white race, be the best racist you can be. Promote ethnic and racial division. Promote the virtues of the white race. Spread propaganda about the tinted races and their apologists. Don't cower behind a mask of liberalism, be proud of your racism. Be honest and up-front.
I'm happy to support whoever people want to be, FD, I just think they should stick to their principles.
But that's just me.
