What are the obligations of the media?
Sep 26th, 2017 at 8:01pm

In relation to newsbroadcasts the whole idea of comedians sending up insane opinion makers is certainly now well established.

Now the world is in a situation where the President of America feels Twitter is the only way to get his message out and Nuclear War is potentially going to break out because of it.

What are the obligations of the news media toward the people it broadcasts to?

Their obligation is to the Advertisers who pay their bills. Even at their best, they package stories, throw them out to the public and move on to the next ones as time allows.

Whether they sit behind a News desk or stand up and deliver monologue to a late night audience they are all actors! And far too often they feel they have the right to interject their own political views.
