75 % of new jobs are govt ones.

THE thousands of new jobs Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has taken credit for since the last election are mostly made up of the state and federal governments’ ballooning public service.

The Courier-Mail can reveal more than three quarters of the state’s new jobs over the past two-and-a-half years have gone to taxpayer-funded bureaucrats.

Federal Employment Minister Michaelia Cash accused Ms Palaszczuk of misleading Queenslanders by talking up the jobs figures, saying there had been a “minuscule increase in private sector jobs”.

Ms Palaszczuk recently praised “Labor’s positive economic plan” which had “driven growth, boosted confidence, attracted investment, increased exports and generated jobs”.

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull also raved last week about Queensland having the “fastest jobs growth of anywhere in the country over the last year”.

But a Federal Government analysis reveals the number of new private sector jobs has been been massively outstripped by the state’s population growth.

Since Labor was elected, private sector jobs have grown by 19,100 – less than 1 per cent – while public sector jobs have soared by 76,500 – more than 25 per cent.

These included jobs in the Commonwealth and Queensland public service, as well as councils.

During the same period, the private sector in NSW increased by 4 per cent and the public sector 15.8 per cent........

Jeez the Tuck-shop Lady proving she should never been in charge of our state, who would have thought.

The pain that QLD went through while the previous government tred to sort out bligh's economic mess will be nothing compared to the pain then next government will have to impose to sort this useless lump of incompetence's sh1t storm.

If this doesn't prove that enforcing quotas to make up the numbers is bad for a state, then I do not know what is.

Time to separate the North from the south east corner and go our own way, with out own destiny and not tied to this fkken rock.   Angry Angry Angry
