I don't use sauces much.  Not even on a meat pie if I ever have one.

Horse & Carriage?
Why not eat out at Cobb & Co.  Cheesy

Anyway. I love my sauces - Red Wine & Garlic sauce go well with Kangaroo meat.
Smokey BBQ with meat pies.

Basically though - sauces come in handy for 'bland' fillers like potato and rice.

no sauce on my pie either- I like to taste what I am eating- not that I eat them much anymore anyway- I love egg mayonnaise that kind of thing home made with dijon mustard can never have too much of that and added fresh herbs make it even better- I do like certain bottled chilli sauces- but not often- ham and mustard go together like peas and carrots    Smiley

I like to taste food JaSin- would never put anything on rice and potatoes except a gravy or a type of soy for rice ( Kim Kum Lee)- but Kanga meat Im not sure about that it has a strong flavour doesnt it- there are so many nice additions to most things tomato sauce should be blown up- so over rated but there will always be tom sauce lovers in Oz I know-

Yes they are but, like me, I think Agnes was just referring to pre-made bottled sauces like mentioned in the OP.

a home made gravy on potatoes as in a roast ( not tom sauce or any other) or a dressing ie as in mayo ( pot salad etc) I have a delicious german pot salad recipe- the only one I like-  dill sour cream etc- rice can take a beautiful  asian soy  cooking ( my fave)  - I do love a sour cream with sweet chilli sauce with crispy oven potato wedges-  so good

I didn't know what I was going to have for dinner tonight, but now I do.

I'm popping down to the Woollies near my office right now, to buy some lamb chops.

...

Thanks for the suggestion, codsey baby.

Yes, the cutlets were a bit pricey.

I ended up just getting loin chops - $22 per kilo.

I'll probably cheat with the gravy.

No crumbs, and probably gravy from a tin, or mint sauce from a bottle.

Due to some hellfire Laotian food I had at a New Years.
I discovered why they drank Vodka as well.
Vodka kills off the burning effect in the mouth far quicker and effectively than the old 'Milk' remedy.
