Need to build some new coal-fired power stations now. Got enough black coal to last us hundreds of years and enough brown coal to last well over 1,000 years. Coal-fired power stations can be built relatively quickly and should be followed closely by nuclear power stations, due to our abundant reserves of uranium. Our plentiful sources of energy should mean we have the lowest power prices in the world, not among the highest. Renewable energy is too expensive and unreliable and should only be used as a source of reserve energy, not a substitute for base load power demands. By all means continue developing it, but it just isn't ready yet, as we saw in South Australia.

Amusingly I think you will find all those countries on that list were in the vanguard of the Paris agreement. Indeed some lunatics on OP held those countries up as something Australia should copy. What a hoot.

Where's the LostSnail pumping his feel good Greeny renewable rubbish ?

Malcolm is slowly coming around to clean coal after the Sth Australia disaster where they are desperately buying diesel generators to try to prop up their renewable rubbish to try to make it thru the summer without blackouts.

And Blackouts Bull S. wants to be able to blackout ALL Australia with his 50% renewable rubbish!!!!

Maybe if the socialists, ye Im looking at you, stopped crapping on about renewables like it is capable of base load power, BOTH parties would have suitable energy policies that targeted base load power whilst not ignoring intermittent power.

Those idiots who are lying to the Australian public about the capabilities of renewables have a lot to answer for on this issue.

BEST UNITED NATIONS SPEECH EVER.

President Trump slammed the Venezuelan Socialist Regime at the UN General Assembly on Tuesday.

President Trump then SLAMMED the Socialist platform.

President Donald Trump:

The problem in Venezuela is not that socialism has been poorly implemented but that socialism has been faithfully implemented. (long pause) From the Soviet Union to Cuba to Venuzela, wherever socialism or communism has been adopted it has delivered anguish and devastation and failure.

You could have heard a pin drop

What did they do when the were in, this has been a problem for a long time and It doesn't get solved in a few months or do you not understand about infrastructure lead time?

If they were going to do something about our base load power crisis when they were, have no doubt they would be crapping on about it now.

The fact is, they had nothing four years ago and they like the libs have nothing now.

They have been bluffing Australia that solar and wind are exactly the same as base load power and you cretins took that lie hook line and sinker.

Renewable power is NOT base load power it is intermittent power, it is not bad to have if we happen to need it at the time it is working.

And they were the ones that exploded the renewables sector. Or had you forgotten?

It takes time to build up the reserves again.

Why ? We have abundant land mass and sunlight energy to make the biggest solar thermal plants in the world !! Why are we fixated on yesterdays technologies ? Are we that useless here ?

Yes we have very large intermittent power systems already, that's the fkken problem.

Learn the difference between intermittent power provided by solar and wind and base load power provided by coal and gas.

It is important you know the difference, so you can stop sounding like a totally retarded fkkwit, you want to do that don't you?

We all want you to stop being a retarded fkkwit, please try to make that happen.
