I've just downloaded and watched Anthony Hopkins in 'The Edge' ~ great entertainment with a lot of action sequences and edge of the seat tensions. Looking up 'Best 100 films' on Google hasn't helped me.

They are usually the original that many modern films go off. The very old Russian film, Alexander Nevsky is good and has inspired 'many' films over the decades. Look up "Best 'original' films of all time" for a great start.

Generally speaking I know I'll enjoy movies that star certain actors:- Anthony Hopkins Michael Douglas Denzel Washington Nicholas Cage Morgan Freeman Jack Nicholson Samuel L. Jackson Edward Norton and others.

You've got good taste in movies. You've picked a winner. I'm always happy to watch it as a Repeat every time it comes around again.

'Primal Fear' ~ another very good one, with the added bonus that it features none other than Laura Linney who is undoubtedly and incontestably the sexiest actress to ever grace the silver screen.

I'll check it out, but I'm not into anything too cerebral nowadays. Just something to keep me at least mildly entertained and interested while I eat my pistachio nuts, grapes, Smiths Crisps, Marsh Mallows, Flake bars, walnut kernels, dates, salted pumpkin seeds, rock melons, and mangoes in the semi darkness in front of the TV.
