I dont like violence at all. But, I dont think anyone was injured, well, at least according to this report that you quote.

Furthermore, the NO voter said something along these lines:

"I heard that there was one person who made a comparison between same-sex marriage and paedophilia and someone said, 'Why can't I marry my dog?' It was a bit ridiculous."

Now, I agree that we have freedom of speech in Australia. But... it also does mean that you need to live with the consequence of what you say. In this case, if you are facing a crowd and hurling insults, then.. well, expect repercussions.

Now, is it right or wrong? As i say, I dont like violence. But I am sure, there are alot of angry right wing hot blooded male here, that would do much worse if insults like these are hurled at them, and certainly wont apologize for it.

I was at Sydney Uni this week and walked past where all the student election stands were set up. The Christian stand was virtually empty, even the Chinese Panda stand had more people.

Reports are there were just a dozen NO campaigners. Shouldn't they be allowed to express their views?

If people are prevented from speaking to air their views what is the eventual logical progression?

A spokesman for the Sydney University Catholic Society said that "vote no" campaigners were "physically assaulted, verbally abused and repeatedly shouted down".

We were told we cannot be on campus with such beliefs

anger, frustration, fear....these are all "heavy energy" and "low vibration energy".

when you dont have a real purpose in life, when your purpose in life is just to "feel the emotions to which you have become addicted", then when you hear about some rally like this, you think you have to "get down there".

really, youre just like an alcoholic that sees the pub is opening and thinks he has to "get down there".

its the same sh***t.

the solution is to have a bigger circle of concerns.

if you are running a business, have a family you need to provide for and are working on self improvement...then a rally about a fairly trivial issue like this would not hit your radar.

the people who go to these sort of rallies need a bigger "circle of concerns"
