Favourite QLD places

I didn't mind the Mackay - to Rockhampton area.
Not bad.
But QLD is a bit too hot and humid for permanent living for me.

Rocky down for me.
Im a fisho and all the towns south of rocky are awesome.

I live very close to North Stradbroke Is.
Amity point has to be one of the best places on earth to sit and watch the world disappear every day.
Fraser Is. Waddy Pt. Another home away from home for us. A lot less people up there too. Great fishing.

I lived in Townsville for 6 months, has an awesome time.

My fav place in QLD is probably Rainbow Beach and Town of 1770.

I've heard great things of Townsville and Port Douglas. I've been to Stradbroke and liked what I saw. I can't fish, but I do spearfish and the fish were amazing.

I lived not far from Rainbow and spent a few nights 'camping' and Tin Can Bay Training Area.  Smiley Smiley

Fitzroy Island, its straight out of RL Stevenson's Treasure Island.

The region bounded by the Great Barrier Reef to the east and the jungle ravines and waterfalls anywhere from Dunk Island-Tully all the way up to Cooktown.

Board shorts and flip-flops, year round.

Why Cairns?
I've heard that its a popular BackPacker hotspot (Darwin, Griffith).
But that it stinks when the tide is out from all the 'mudflats'.
That it takes 4 hours boating to get to any decent Coral Reefs.

I love it when people say things like that, if it keeps them away.
