Yeah, I think you're wrong - yet again. Given his parliamentary pension and other income he gets from speaking, etc, I really doubt he's in it for the money. It's not like he needs it. Clearly, he's put his hand up because he wants to serve the people in his area. Good on him, too!

what a load of rubbish. People don't go into politics at 73 because they want to help. They volunteer at soup kitchens, they help out at the hospitals, they deliver meals on wheels.
Ruddock is in it for the glory. He wants the power that the position brings him, his greatest fear is obscurity.

He is in it, I would guess, because he feels he is the best person for the job and wants to bring his considerable political experience to Hornsby council to help the council and its ratepayers to prosper. Clearly, the majority of voters in Hornsby agree with me, not you.
