http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/news/nsw/teenager-charged-with-murder-of-wagga-...A NINETEEN-year-old Wagga Wagga teenager has been charged with the murder of a 27-year-old woman who had been missing since August.
Chef Allecha Suzette Boyd, the cousin of Collingwood AFL star Will Hoskin-Elliott, was last seen in the township of Coolamon in August, 50km northwest of Wagga Wagga.
Strike Force Amias yesterday raided a 19-year-old man’s home on Gurwood St in Wagga and seized a “loaded shortened rifle”.
He was charged with murder, possess unauthorised prohibited firearm, possess ammunition without a permit, not keep prohibited firearm safe and breach of bail.
Detectives had been investigating the woman’s disappearance since August but now believe she met foul play. The man was arrested and refused bail. He will appear at Wagga Wagga Local Court today.
Investigations are continuing and detectives are scouring nearby bushland to locate Allecha’s body.
The charges come after Ms Boyd’s sisters Rhiannon and Tammara made an emotional plea for people to come forward with information.
“There’s been no access to her bank account and nothing to say she has any source of income,” her sister Rhiannon told The Daily Telegraph at the time.
“I’m scared she could be dead somewhere or someone could be hurting her somewhere.
“I just want my sister to come home … she is not even 28 years old.
This doesn’t happen, now six weeks has gone on, the unknown is scary.”
Police have been scouring nearby bushland for Ms Boyd’s body.
Ms Boyd worked as a chef at the Farmers Home Hotel in Wagga Wagga.
She was living with a friend in Lake Albert in the lead-up to her disappearance on Thursday, August 10.
Police believe she was traveling in a green and silver Subaru Outback which dropped her off at Coolamon at 1.30pm. The vehicle has been seized by police.
Detectives are pleading for anyone with information to come forward.
