Round 1 - GGG v Alvarez - Left jab from GGG. Alvarez with a nice one, two but can't get through the guard of GGG. Body and head from Alvarez. Interesting to see how the judges score this round. It was very close.

Golovkin marches forward early to get behind the jab. Canelo goes back and moves sideways. 'Triple G,' is the chant from the crowd. Golovkin then just misses with the right hand. Nothing landed in minute and a half. Golovkin gets a right hand off but then so does Alvarez. Alvarez comes forward again as Golovkin misses. Alvarez warming up nicely.

Round 2 - GGG v Alvarez - Again it's GGG controlling the ring with Alvarez circling the outside. He approaches but doesn't have the range

Not a lot of shots thrown in the first round. Alvarez with some nice combinations. A feeling out round from both men.

Alvarez keeping his concentration. He isn't being pushed back either. Golovkin's punches aren't connecting at present. A couple of body shots catch Golovkin. Both throw punches but again both miss. Golovkin is still on top of Alvarez, though. The Mexican doing well on the counter.

Round 2 - GGG v Alvarez - Alvarez is very busy. another tough round to judge. Uppercut from Alvarez to the guts to end the round. I have to give it to Alvarez. GGG was pressing forward early but I think Alvarez stole that round.

Alvarez beckons Golovkin to come forward. The mighty Kazakh is all of a sudden a bit tentative. Alvarez is perhaps the quicker fighter. Golovkin does well to move back towards Alvarez. Fine right hand follows up but Alvarez appears confident at the end of round four.
04:21
Jeff Powell's round three verdict
Game on. Golovkin had landed two heavy blows at the end of the second and he opened with several more at the start of the third. His jab established the distance thereafter and although Canelo connected with a sharp uppercut he found himself backed onto the ropes and under pressure as the round ended. Alvarez 9-10 Golovkin

04:21
Close throughout as Golovkin catches Alvarez with a couple of shots but neither fighter lands anything significant. Tactics at work. Golovkin slightly lazy in his movement.

Both fighters working hard but Golovkin connects with a lovely right hand. That landed and it was powerful. Alvarez on the ropes but Golovkin won't commit. Alvarez shaking his head but he isn't landing. The Mexican is this time forced to come forward before the bell sounds.

Golovkin is on the march. Left hook and right hand from Golovkin but Alvarez hits with an upper cut. A close sixth round. Neither of the two appear tired.
04:30
Jeff Powell's round five verdict
Canelo kept shaking his head when taking those huge rights. Gallantly he came back, to bring us towards the epic battlr we had predicted. But even in the Mexican atmosphere he was surely fallng well behind on the card. Alvarez 9-10 Golovkin

Jeff Powell's round six verdict
Alvarez had high hopes of his uppercut but it was one from Triple G which rocked him. The pressure from the onward marching Kazakh. His timing and distance were close to perfection and as more precision rights and lefts came in Canelo was clearly feeling the strain and was cautioned for desperate swing at Triple G’s back. Alvarez 9-10 Golovkin

The first half of the fight was suppsed to belong to the Mexican but I had him behind at the turn. It was Golovkiin who was looking eight years the younger at this stage  De La Hoya had predicted hell for these warriors but it was his Mexican who endured a nightmare seventh. Even the head shakes after taking punishment were less emphatic. Alvarez 9-10 Golovkin

04:36
Body shot from Alvarez connects. Golovkin then comes back and gets him in the body. Both are throwing punches but aren't landing. Alvarez moving very nicely. Both displaying very good ringcraft.

Round 9 - GGG v Alvarez - They exchange uppercuts. Now both men are opening up. A great flurry from Alvarez and then out of range. Fatigue is setting in for Alvarez. GGG with a hook. He's not allowing Alvarez to breathe.
