Without doubt the libtards and their flip flopping on energy policy is the problem , 4 years of nothing except reversing good policy , it's little wonder private enterprise are saying you're on your own

The great encouragement to the providers is to get on the phone and suggest to users how they might save in the short term... but it always comes with a cost... you are tied to a contract and once in, are subject to every change upwards in cost that the provider provides....

This move by Mal is just a con job..... what is required is the abolition of multiple company provi8der service - which contrary to the bilge given out that 'competition will reduce prices' has lead to endless cost increases.

What is needed is the acceptance that 'privatisation' is an abject failure, does not provide the service it claimed it would, and thus needs to be reversed - NOW!

Private enterprise in this guise is demonstrably NOT more efficient.... and thus .. by extension ... all other privatisation ventures are a failure as well..

Resume the power grid and supply, resume the roads, and resume everything else sold off for the benefit of a few insider traders....

Power To the People!!

In a time of universal deceit — telling the truth is a revolutionary act.

No evidence whatsoever it can be attributed to George Orwell or Eric Arthur Blair (in fact the same guy)

And labor's policy is?

That's right it's a secret, hush hush.

Be great to know how labor intends to supply base load power to the country, obviously liberals are hopeless, so come on labor tell us how it can be done.

Hope it is better than QLD labor who spends nearly half a billion dollars every year to suppliment the power lost because base load needs to travel well ove 1000 kms to cairns. Even though in less than 5 years they could build a top class base load power station for the north, but refuse to do so.

Ya gotta wonder why all the waste of power and money when a solution in there to be had.

labor had a very clear and decisive energy policy when it was in govt. and it'll have one next time around. There is no need for them to release all the details this far out. libs didn't release details for most of their policies until a few days before the election

The risk is that the libs won't have resolve their own internal struggles and they'll simply reverse labors policy next time they're in. Big business can't operate like that. They need a firm direction for the long term. It takes decades to recoup costs, let alone make profits. W Ho's going to risk that sort of money when policy changes every 4 yrs?

I look forward to the sunny uplit lands of the next Labor government.

I am led to believe by the army of barge arsed unemployable luvvie cretins who camp here morning till night that the NBN and the NDIS will be resolved, energy prices down and that there will be jobs for all.

Which might be a problem for some of the bargedarsed dole bludgers, having to unstick their arses from a chair and having to work for a day Smiley

who led you to believe that? It's certainly not anything labor has said.

So since it is so secret they can make no promise or even compare their policy to the liberals.

They can't even make a glib comment on what they might think the solution may be if in the event a change of government may occur.

Im pretty sure their previous policy was to build not a single base load power station, instead to rely on subsidising cheap chinese roof top solar panel most of which are in land fill.

So they had that going for them.

But if they even hint to some sort of actual policy on energy security, feel free to let me know.

they're not in govt. they have no need to announce anything yet. No business is going to invest billions based on what an opposition does. I'm sure you'll find out all the details before you go to vote.

they've offered to work with the govt, to come up with a concrete plan in unison. One that will stay in place regardless of who wins the next election so as to end the indecision and give private business a firm direction on how to invest. The liberal govt. has refused.

As it is no one is investing long term in the really big stuff, with either old energy sources or renewable, because no one wants to take the chance that the policies won't change. Sure you have a couple of small projects going on with renewables, but they're never going to be enough.

It is not a battle between 'old energy sources and renewables' it is decision to ensure energy security with base load power, everything else is fluff. They can crap on about roof top solar until they are old and grey, no-one gives a fkk when it is night time and they need power.

Now surely they can explain out loud what they consider is their preferred method of providing base load power, it can be that much of a secret, then needs to be with held for the Australian people.

Just say what it is they approve of and everyone, myself especially will be over fkken joyed. Don't even want a policy anymore just a nod and a wink.
