I used to work for Toyota and in all honesty, I do think they are all-round pretty good vehicles. Some, like the Kluger are fizzers. But overall, pretty good.
I do love the Lexus series though.
Definitely leave the Mercs and Beamers in their dust.

They're boring and not very inovatave,  but the risk adverse attitude creates reliable cars.

No dual clutch disasters!

Which are? The Lexus's or the Toyota general models?

Ah yes.
But Holdens all look even more the same as each other. Less variation in them.

Personally, I wish it was the 70's again. lol

During the last economic downturn (thanks to the USA).
Mercedes & BMW really skimped on their production lines.
Riding the reputation of past ages. Their new cars came out as complete crap. Made cheaply and sold expensively.
All done in desperation to just keep the Companies alive.
VW fared better but still had its problems.

Buy two Great Wall utes to last 5 years each and you still come out $30,000 better off than one Hilux ute for 10 years.

yes, and then the euros invested heavily into diesel engines.
that's been a bad decision.

they are in a bad situation.
reputation damaged
profits not so good.

Estranged wife had a neat little hatchy Kia.
I liked how it hugged the road around corners like a Mini being chased by cops and it had some good zip. Shame some drunken Islanders doing 100km in a 40km zone (Liverpool) pushed it up a telegraph pole from a parked position.
