Sylvester Stallone Retires..
Aug 17th, 2017 at 9:25pm

at 71....

I was listening to this the other day and was going to direct it at our old mate Scoot...  Smiley

Quote:
Let me tell you something you already know.

The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows.

It's a very mean and nasty place and I don't care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it.

You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life.

But it ain't about how hard ya hit.

It's about how hard you can get it and keep moving forward.

How much you can take and keep moving forward.

That's how winning is done!

Now if you know what you're worth then go out and get what you're worth.

But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody!

Cowards do that ,

and that ain't you!

You're better than that
!

Rocky to Mickey the Trainer, after Rocky had been given a title bout with Apollo Creed but Mickey his trainer had removed his gear from his locker not knowing that Rocky had a title shot

It might have been a matter of months, but I think Stallone announced his retirement last year.

Love the Rocky movies, there's a lesson in life in every one.

As for Stallone, his face is so full of botox these days, he looks a bit disfigured.

Acting directing public Appearances etcetera

It the post is more about the message...

No matter how many hits you take... in life... just get back up again and keep going... without excuses... without blaming anyone or self loathing....

Ascoot has been telling this message for years...

We are lucky to have him on this forum spreading his positive messages 😀

Grin Grin Grin

Like a bag full of walnuts.

But then again, look how Burt Reynolds turned out.

Years of self-abuse with rich foods and excessive alcohol and drugs reduces them to only a shadow of their former selves.

Kirk Douglas
The Happy Days father.
Charlton Heston

...  and many others all turned out to look like Halloween masks enough to give children nightmares.

Some meme was floating around the internet where they showed a picture of a 60-something-year-old Schwarzenegger posing shirtless in a mean pose. The caption wrote "It does not matter how buff and healthy you look in your 20s, because you are always going to end up like this". I wondered if that was a good thing or a bad thing.

I love the story behind Stallone and the Rocky movie.
I read about it I a big book upon the best 'literature' examples in the world. Stallone's Rocky story was used as one of the best examples and a good inspiration.

It is one of the rare stories that shows there is victory in failure. Rocky goes out and dedicates his life to fighting a fight he knows he just can't win. Why? Because although he is never going to win that fight and he's gonna take a beating, he discovers along the way that he wins a lot more in 'life' than if he hadn't taken the challenge. He finds love, better living, etc.

There is the other story circulating how Stallone approached the Movie Industry with his 'storyline' for the movie Rocky. Of how he was destitute, sold his dog for $300 and refused the Movie Industry's offer 'three times' because he wanted to be in the Movie as the lead Actor.
Eventually they caved, he became a Star and he later went back and bought his dog back for $115,000.
