The horror, the horror
Aug 17th, 2017 at 11:24am

Manus Island refugees have been pictured holidaying on a tropical island
The men are seen beaming, wrestling on the beach and drinking from coconuts
One of the men pictured appeared in a GetUp! ad last month asking for an SOS

Australian govt has so far spent over $2 billion on refugee detainment on manus island, which is more than $1 million per refugee seeker.

I would have thought for that kind of money they'd get daily massages, weekly karaoke or square-dancing, and monthly cases of champagne.

We must send a curt letter to the resort proprietor and express our disgust at the lack of value for money.

Some members were comparing Manus to Auchstwitz. That is the point.

Of course, the Daily Mail travelled to manus and somehow manipulated those reffos to pose for photos and post comments about being on holiday, thats it.

you probably didn't see the story with Hamish, but that came complete with photo's from Hamish's (or his wifes) face book page too  too. With Hamish and his baby skiing, on real snow ..... in fiji.  Shocked Shocked Shocked

So they got the wrong country. Is this what you are saying here, that the photos werent taken on Manus? Despite the actual people pictured stating they were.

No, I'm saying that daily mail is lazy and unreliable. Hamish's wife put up a photo on her facebook page and as a joke, wrote the caption 'skiing in fiji'. The daily mail copied her photo, and ran a half page article explaining what a wonderful time hamish and zoe were having skiing in fiji on their first family holiday since the baby was born. What a doting father Hamish was, what a wonderful baby ...........  blah blah blah

the problem is that no one ever researched anything, or checked to confirm any details, they just made up a bullsh1t story based on their imagination. In case you were aware, there is no snow in fiji, it's a tropical island.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

If that's how they run their paper then any reasonable person has to question everything they read in that paper. How do you know where that photo was taken? or when? Or even if it's the person they claim it is? They pull photos from anywhere and make up stories to appeal to their readers. It's OK though, people like Herbie prefer it that way.

if you would have read the article you would see that the reffos pictured posted and identified themselves and their location on facebook. You might also have noticed the original article appeared in the Courier Mail. Anything else?
