We need to reaffirm Australian secularism as our foundation, because its the only thing that will save cultural tolerance in this country. Don't get sucked in by the current pretense of tolerance, the religions hate each other.

Who cares what is on TV any more?

That's not the point, and if you cannot understand what I am saying, I don't know any way of making it clearer. The old, she'll be right mate, attitude, will not cut it anymore. These bastards don't care about the country they live in, they care about their religion. And they do not believe in tolerance of other beliefs.

You're of Italian origin, right? Look at how look it took for Italy to develop its nationhood - hundreds of years and it took Garibaldi and blackshirts and a war with Austria to create the modern Italian state.
