North Korea threatens 'thousand time' revenge
Aug 8th, 2017 at 8:46am

Source Sky News 8 August 2017:
North Korea has threatened to launch 'thousands-fold' revenge against the US after tough UN sanctions were imposed on it following the test firing of intercontinental ballistic missiles.

In a statement on Monday, Pyongyang said the sanctions were caused by a 'heinous US plot to isolate and stifle' North Korea.

'We will not put our self-defensive nuclear deterrent on the negotiating table,' it said, 'and will never take a single step back from strengthening our nuclear might'.

The statement, carried by North Korea's official Korea Central News Agency, also threatened to make the US 'pay the price for its crime... thousands of times'.

Should North Korea pull the trigger it will be wiped off the Earth in short order

The launch of its first Inter Continental Ballistic missile on a military target or numerous for that matter will be met with such force by the U.S. that North Korea will be razed from one end to the other

You can sure that the fire  power is already in place and waiting for the order

Once this maniac precipitates War, the response will be enormous from the U.S. South Korea and Japan

But if the USA took the initiative,
it would be like 'going back in time'
and both China & Russia would have an excuse to attack the USA.

The real problem that started the whole 'problem'
is Russia, when it raised its ugly head as the Soviet Union.

You gotta understand that 'Politics' is trying to find an 'eternal' connection 'around' this planet.
So is every other Industry and Race.
"So see in 'every direction'"

By right, the Ring of Politics is from North America, down through Oceania, into Sahul (Australia), then back up to Europe.
But because Australia has been somewhat 'nothing' for so long, but a tiny little 'holiday' camp for Convicts.
The Soviet Union rose up into existence instead.
Don't laugh.
The idea that the World was going to have an 'All-White' Northern Hemisphere via the USSR/USA convergence was a very real thing.
As General Macarthur quoted in the Korean War
"We are here to kick the Yellow Mongols out of Asia"
(and send them where? Australia?)
Yin/Yang was very much perceived as the 'simple answer' for the simpletons who see life as either 'just' Black or White.
Crazy huh?  Roll Eyes
But we all know it didn't go that way.
The USSR, after turning China into Communism, failed and turned into Capitalism. It slapped China on the back and said "Join me" and then turned and said "Sorry, I'll take the USA way".
Now Europe, headed by the Ukraine is putting pressure on Russia to become more 'Pro-European'.
"Are you with us or against us?"
Poor Russia, nothing but a Mafia, Gangster run nation of a Military force that is half of what it used to be and semi-rusted away - is now stuck between a rock and a hard place.
If Russia turns its back on China again - China will invade it and take Siberia.
If that happens...
Russia will suddenly call to the USA for help.
USA will be hesitant to get involved, but this is where North Korea (like a son waiting to avenge his raped mother of the Korean War) will bring the USA into the fray.
China would much rather go to war against a crumbling Russia, than the USA ...especially when the majority of its Military are 'ground troops'.

The Yin/Yang 'all white' Northern Hemisphere 'belief' has 'failed'.
Thankfully because the 'connection' has been given a pass to continue here in Australia ...for want of the whole world being destroyed by the 'blackmail' of all out Thermonuclear War - which would have been the case during the very powerful USSR years.

If China invades Russia and takes Siberia, thus giving the 'Yellow' Mongols an access of existence to share the North. The South East Nations of Vietnam, Burma, etc will swipe southern lands from China. Just yesterday, Vietnam has urged their fellow Southern Asia nations to 'Arm Up' against China ...just in case.

So no. North Korea won't 'start' anything.
They are like that little coward in the Pub who waits for his big mate to start the fight and then rushes in to lay the boot in from behind.

The USSR was a great nation. But it was just in the wrong place.
Now the heat is on Australia to stop being the lazy nation that just blames the UK or whoever for 'being chained' from taking more Global Responsibility.

So you see. It's really about the 'Big Picture'. Sure it sounds insane, but it has been an 'insane world' for quite awhile. It's all about every race and 'culture' having a sense of 'equality'.

War will soon start, I reckon next year. It's been practically 100 years since WW1. The world has to 'turn' again.

The 'All-white' Northern Hemisphere attempt, via the USSR has FAILED. Now the 'Yellow Mongols', who now get to stay in Asia - will get revenge for nearly being kicked out.

Get ready to rumble.

Hence why even the UK has sent three 'Super Carriers' into the China Sea.

Sorry Australia. But when Russia is 'gone' as a Super Power, the World will be looking in this direction of the world. Looks like the 'Holiday' is over. The UK (Parents) are about to kick you out of their house to 'grow up' and find yourself in the World, wether you like it or not.

Things will suddenly go 'crazy' in Australia ...if they aren't already.  Tongue

They will probably hold off nuking North Korea until winter. That would hopefully keep the Sth Koreans warm, and the nuclear fallout would drift northwards away from Sth Korea.

Sky News 9th August 17

US President Donald Trump says North Korea 'will be met with fire and fury like the world has never seen' if it threatened the United States again.

'North Korea best not make any more threats to the United States. They will be met with fire and fury like the world has never seen,' Trump told reporters at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey.

Mr Trump's comments come amid reports North Korea has successfully made a nuclear warhead that can fit inside its intercontinental ballistic missiles.

If correct, it would be a considerable development in the rogue state's drive to weaponise nuclear weapons - and a significant step on the path to becoming a fully fledged nuclear power, the Washington Post says.

North Korea doesn't want to start war but only to defend itself.
On the contrary Trump wants to precipitate war hoping to get rid of problems with deep state the same as Bill Clinton bombarded little Serbia to escape problems with Monica Lewinsky.

the wall between North and South Korea was never meant to be permanent...

its time this wall came down...

could Trump be the man to sort his sheet out?

meanwhile....

if people want to talk about the end of the Earth...

then take a look at India and China...

tensions are heating up and there has been threats of "taking military action"...

why no mention of this in MSM???

too obsessed with Trump??

He is the only one with any balls, just like after the gas attack in Syria, everyone else just wants a talkfest, That was Obamas way and nothing works on this madman and it seems to be heading for a conflict.

The problem is Seouls proximity to the DMZ and NK rockets and artillery.

I still reckon they should have started doing limited Tomohawke strikes to try and slow him a down.

As I said before North Korea is just truing to protect itself from US - Japanese aggression.

Pyongyang said that it has been working on a plan to launch a medium-range ballistic missile at a US airbase in Guam.
This comes after US bombers flew over North Korea  with Korean and Japanese warplanes.

Denouncing the flyover by the US bombers as an “actual nuclear drill” that is “driving the regional situation to an extreme pitch,” a North Korean military spokesman said in a statement released on Wednesday by KCNA news agency that Pyongyang is “carefully examining the operation plan for making an enveloping fire at the areas around Guam with medium-to-long-range ballistic rocket Hwasong-12.”

If Criminal Jong un presses the first button - he will in effect consign his Country North Korea to oblivion

I don't believe Trump is grandstanding when he made his comments following Jong un's posturing

If Jong un blasts away at Guam it will be his last foolish act

Jong un is an International Criminal with Nuclear threats in his mind

The sooner the biggest Sheriff in the world deals with this arsehole the better for all of us

Don't wait until Jong un gets a real nuclear arsenal under his belt, which he is rapidly approaching the point where he will

Deal with him now!!!

Look how long they procrastinated over Hitler

Nail Jong un now, this bastard is so dangerous already and becoming rapidly more so

I think youre making a very big mistake of underestimating how dangerous he is on the basis of his comical appearance. Some times you need to take people at their word. He tells us over and over again what he plans to do. Threatening countries with nukes should be taken seriously.

Sure, we should continue to monitor the situation.

It's also important to understand that the Kim regime wants to stay in power. The only way they can do that is by NOT pissing the world off too much. North Korea would lose any war with the West.

Kim is just beating the drum, and Trump is dancing to the tune.

I'm quite optimistic about this: Kim Jong Fatty is a psychopath but he's not stupid to nuke anyone. Also, neither is Iran that stupid too.

I don't think he's a psychopath,  just a product of his upbringing and he acts as he's expected to.

Don't forget, behind fatso operates the world's craziest most dysfunctional party machines and ultimately,  fat is just the figurehead of it.

You're conflating Jong Fatty with Hitler. Jong-Un isn't expansionist; he just wants to stay in power, screw his harem of women and make cheesy threats.

Hitler wanted to conquer the world.

No.

The concern is this :

BOTH = insane megalomaniacs who think they can hold the world to ransom.

All North Korea wants is more food.

That's hardly holding anyone to ransom.

Ok so next time I want more food..I'll be sure to spend whatever money I have.....on nukes.

You really need to think more before posting.

Building nukes and spending money on the military as a priority is necessary to strengthen the regime. Fatty can't rob the military to feed his people, otherwise the military will be pissed off.

Why do you think there is mass starvation/malnutrition in North Korea?

Whenever I hear Kim Jong Fatty making these threats, a part of me laughs. He's like a schoolboy who is just wants attention, and so he uses phrases like 'thousand times' revenge on the United States.

It's all rhetoric by a boy who wants attention, and something in return.

Don't worry: if North Korea does anything like: selling a nuke; preparing the nuke, NK is a gonner. US, UK, Japan and SK would invade NK and, the North won't win, and they know that. But, before that even happened, the Chinese would take over NK.

My advice: don't take the schoolboy seriously.

Yes, good call, and also the military leadership.

Although I think Fat is psychopath. You have to be able to run a country like that. I think that's why the brother turned down the job in the first place.

dont worry..

China is making a killing exporting into NK...

China makes more of a killing exporting to the rest of the world.

NK serves only to be a buffer state between China and South Korea. NK's strategic importance is no longer as vital for China.

Since North Korea started it's shenanigans this year.
China has increased its shipments into North Korea by 40% when the spy satellites showed the proof.
China flatly denies it.
Because all Americans are dumb.

Then along comes Trump, hated and despised by the Media of his own country.
Suddenly China is like "He's a little bastard like us!"
Shocked

China supports NK because it's more convenient to do so than to invade them.

There is no link.  It did not happen.  There was a schmedia report of two US bombers flying over 'the peninsular' which includes South Korea.

The Kim Regime, under former leader Kim Jong-Il institute the 'military first' policy in which all resources were first designate to the military.

As long as the military are well fed and paid, then they will be satisfied.

Now, the common people, however, are a different matter. Malnourishing people is a way to control them more easily with their bullshit propaganda of Juche. Sure, the elite of Pyongyang are doing fine, and are buying in to the whole thing; but so long as the majority of the people are malnourished, Kim can control his people.

One of the reasons why North Korea has lasted for as long as it has is because it's managed to balance all of these things. It is, in one sense, the most perfect totalitarian regime. There's a massive Cult of Personality followed by a military elite.

So, you disagree with how the Kim regime maintains power? You don't believe that the majority of his people are malnourished? They have several famines over the course of many years. China sends the regime food supplies (among other things).

Malnourishment is an important aspect in the Kim Dynasty maintaining control over their mind. Do you disagree?

You're conflating Jong Fatty with Hitler. Jong-Un isn't expansionist; he just wants to stay in power, screw his harem of women and make cheesy threats.

Hitler wanted to conquer the world.

No.

The concern is this :

BOTH = insane megalomaniacs who think they can hold the world to ransom.

All North Korea wants is more food.

That's hardly holding anyone to ransom.

Grin

Ok so next time I want more food..I'll be sure to spend whatever money I have.....on nukes.

You really need to think more before posting.

1. Building nukes and spending money on the military as a priority is necessary to strengthen the regime. Fatty can't rob the military to feed his people, otherwise the military will be pissed off.

2. Why do you think there is mass starvation/malnutrition in North Korea?

1. You're talking serious utter shyte.

2. There is mass starvation/malnutrition in North Korea BECAUSE OF FATTY'S NUCLEAR WEAPONS PROGRAM. DUH!

I believe that's what I just said.

You're saying all North Korea wants is more food.

And that Fatty has no choice BUT to pursue a nuclear weapons program.

I said that all that NK wants is more food.

And that Fatty is spending his money on nuclear to strengthen his regime.

I didn't say that he has no choice BUT to pursue a nuclear weapons programme.

I'm saying ^^^^ that's bollocks.

He has no choice but to strengthen his regime.

Pursuing nuclear weapons is one way to achieve
that goal.

Oh this just gets even better.

Now you're saying that Fatty is pursuing a nuclear weapons program to strengthen his regime.

And he has no choice in the matter.

Now explain to me how anyone can strengthen their regime by starving it.

Fatty is only starving the blacks, dear.

North's Korea's Communist ideology of Juche was fully developed before the Korean War. China saved North Korea, yes, but after the war, it was business as usual for North Korea with their Juche ideology.

What does any of this have to with my so-called 'bullshit?'

I agree. It's also true that China is the solution to North Korea's problem.

The old Chinese regime propped up the Kim Dynasty because ideologically they were more similar to Mao than to Deng. The current regime though would most likely not get involved in another war if one were to occur.

As I've said before, the best solution is for China to annex North Korea.

I think the whole Iran thing is driven in part due to Saudi Arabia and their wahhabhist ideology. They don't want a Shia state to be dominant in the Middle East.

The mistake that Iran made was pursuing nuclear weapons. At least Saudi Arabia cottoned on to this a long time ago.

The reality of this is that any country with even short term foresight policies would opt for killing Kim Jong Un over military options any day. The problem being is who could they get to kill someone so well protected that you might need to see military action as a diversion whilst undertaking the assassination?

Jong un has upped the stakes stating that Guam would be the target of an attack within the immediate future

If you think the United States of America will stand by whilst Jong un gets his missiles ready to blow up Guam you are not on this planet

If U.S. Intelligence confirms Jong un ranting stand by for a massive and I mean bloody massive pre emptive strike by America on North Korea

Personally I don't believe they would use Nukes however their arsenal of non nuclear  weapons is absolutely massive

You can bet on one thing, if the U.S. go at North Korea they will hit them with  incredible force

The U.S. will not leave Jong un with the Nuclear option
'
The U.S. will level them literally!

Jong un has already threatened the U.S. with Nuclear  strikes, therefore he has already crossed the final frontier because Trump has total justification for deadly force in order to 'save America' from Nuclear attack

It's only a matter of time unless there is a total reversal of attitude from Jong un...which just won't happen

They haven't got more food because of the Kim Jong Ils & Uns.

The elite don't starve ... the people do.

They can grow their own food ... but Fatboy takes all resources & puts it into military armaments ....

and stupid military parades ... like the Ruskies used to do when they had an inferiority complex.

Send in a black ops team & assassinate the boxheaded fat bugger.

Jong un has already threatened the U.S. with Nuclear  strikes, therefore he has already crossed the final frontier because Trump has total justification for deadly force in order top 'save America' from Nuclear attack

It's only a matter of time unless there is a total reversal of attitude from Jong un...which just won't happen

That's the game plan - if Fat Boy looks really dangerous, the Chinese will take him out rather than risk war.... meanwhile they'll wait and see how it pans out, seeking any possible advantage....

Yes - you've got to believe that the master of the deal has made some

I agree, Donald Trump would be crazy to make his comments unless an understanding had been reached with China

Don't worry China is going gang busters with their capitalist enterprises

They want Jong un banging on with his Nuclear aspirations like they want a hole in the head

The secret agenda may be that Donald Trump will take care of North Korea whilst China takes a powder

China has over 200,000 troops on the border with NK.

They are there to invade if given the order.

Actually China might want this -
some extra free territory for China & with the blessing of the USA.

Everybody wins - even the NK people
as they live under a tyranny.

I do not think the Chinese even want to think about war in North Korea.  It is a very poor country, the agriculture infrastructure was largely destroyed during the last Korean war, and still not recovered after decades of sanctions.  There are alot of starving people who will turn into refugees.  If you think the Syrian migrant crisis in Europe is big, then this is another matter.

We are looking at literally millions of refugees without food, or shelter.  The 200k or so troops on the boarder would be barely enough to keep order.  How would China hope to feed all these people?  And this is one end of the boarder.  On the other side, people will stream into South Korea - probably not across the land, but cross the sea to South Korea.  That is going to have an enormous economic and social impact on South Korea.  And Japan will not be spared either.  So all of sudden, you have China, Korea, Japan all going down at the same time.  The world economy will suffer, in particular Australia would be finished.

On the contrary, China will want a North Korea there to act as buffer to USA.  If North Korea goes down, and South Korea takes over, US will build a military base in North Korea in no time.

A better analogue would be this.  After Jong Un saw Saddam and Gadafi got eaten alive by the tiger after they try to fend off the tiger with a stick.  He decided in order to survive, he needs a really big gun.

I believe what you are saying is not realistic.

The population of NK is still 25 million +.  And that means 25 million hungry and poor to feed.  China is a third world country, significant amount of its population are still under poverty.   Pollution, land erosion, deficit in agriculture are real problems.  And not to mention, there is very limited infrastructure in North Korea.

Second, you failed to understand that there is significant differences between Chinese and Korean.  The Chinese had throughout history tried to invade and occupy Korea, but all failed.

Third, what about South Korea.  Despite the differences, South Korea still consider North Koreans Koreans.  And hope one day that their country will be whole again.   They are NOT going to sit back, and let other foreign powers - USA + China to make a deal behind their back, and give North Korea to China.  This is just simple absurd.

Fourthly, it is the US policy to contain China.  Giving away North Korea will have serious - very serious implications on the securities for both Japan and South Korea.   Even now, North Korea have the capability to bomb Guam.  Imagine if the Chinese takes over North Korea, what can they do to Guam?

Lets just say, it wont happen.

This has been going on long before Trump. North Korea was always next on the list after the yanks buttered up the Shia in Iraq and got in the good books of the Iranians.

Unless Korea is a 13 year old girl, it's not on Trump's list.

Donald will do nothing about Kim - he's too much of a coward.

The US military establishment is a lot more powerful than Trump.

Indeed.

I said Donald will do nothing.

Bobby, concentrate now, why would China want infertile land and 25 million hungry dependants?

Not to mention US deposits along it's borders, which would happen immediately.

Bobby is right- because he is plausable and you are clueless- question asked and answered

Thanks Agnes,
I know I'm right.
It's all been worked out behind the scenes.
It's the only thing that makes sense.

I don't think China wants to be that controversial!

What deal? And what for?

The deal:

The USA gets rid of the threat of North Korea.

China gets some new territory.

Just look at history -
when there's a war all the large powers take sides.
WW1 started with an assassination of one man & before long the whole world was at war.

If North Korea lands some rockets more than 12 miles out from Guam....so what?  What have they done wrong in International Law?

Has anyone yet considered the unlikelihood Dum Dum's rockets would get beyond Japan before being shot down?

Source Sky News:

US President Donald Trump has said that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un will 'truly regret' any action he takes against Guam.

He told reporters: 'I hope that they are going to fully understand the gravity of what I said, and what I said is what I mean. Those words are very easy to understand.'

Mr Trump was speaking at his Bedminster golf resort in New Jersey, where he is on holiday.

Hours earlier the President tweeted that military solutions were 'locked and loaded' should North Korea 'act unwisely.'

Trump said:

http://edition.cnn.com/2017/08/11/politics/trump-north-korea-overt-threat/index....

(CNN)President Donald Trump stood by his bellicose rhetoric on North Korea Friday, telling leader Kim Jong Un he "will truly regret it and he will regret it fast" if he issues an overt threat or attacks Guam or a US ally.

"This man will not get away with what he is doing,"

Trump told reporters. "If he utters one threat in the form of an overt threat ... or if he does anything with respect to Guam, or any place else that is an American territory or an America ally, he will truly regret it and he will regret it fast."

Actually what it says is that it will defend N Korea against a"first strike". It does not say it will defend N Korea against a retaliatory strike. It says it will remain neutral.

So if N Korea fires at Guam, an unincorporated territory of the USA, alls are off.

Jong un has been threatening and postulating ever since he became President

His flagrant breaching of world protocols in launching inter continental ballistic missiles is basically waving his arse to the world

That Donald Trump has more than stood up to this insane criminal is something that should have been long ago but Obama was such a soft cock that he allowed Jong un to grow ever stronger as the world's 'bully on the block'

Now Trump has to deal with the mess Obama left behind

People are funny huh? Jong u has been at it for years not months but do we hear from all the soft cock left wingers on Jong un? Not much....not much at all

Then Donald Trump stands up to Jong un, the first World Leader to do so and in doing so lets that fat prick Jong un know that he playing with the big boys now

Finally even though Trump has been all over the place; where Jong 8un is concerned he has been right on the money

If the left wing soft cocks can't handle that think about this

Without Trump's intervention Jong un was travelling along building his nuclear capability without a puff of wind in his face suddenly he's facing a hurricane

All this talks about going tough with North Korea.  However, I wonder if USA have the capacity to do anything.  It is got so many things on its international plate: Russian, China, Middle East, Africa.  Defense spending is already astronomical comparing to the rest of the world in a time when its national debt is reaching 23 trillion and adding fast.  Back at home, lines are divided between politics, class and race.

A war with North Korea will be far more complicated and costly than Afghanistan or Iraq, with many strong regional players.

Channel 7 News a.m.  15/08/17

U.S. Intelligence reports indicate that missiles are being moved to the launching sites in North Korea

Jong un has promised to 'ring Guam in fire'. Jong un has been briefed by his Military that the missiles are being deployed in preparation for possible launch. The weapons involved are medium range inter continental ballistic missiles

If Jong un carries out his promise it will be 'game on' because Trump has already indicated that such an act would be considered an attack on U.S. soil

Who cares what that orange bloated buffoon 'considers.'  Dum Dum Un is entitled to drop his rockets in international waters...just like US ships and planes are entitled to fly over and sail in international waters in the South China Sea off those Chinese Islands.

For you Aussie source 'To coin a phrase site net'

'To coin a phrase' is now rarely used with its original 'invent a new phrase' meaning but is almost always used ironically to introduce a banal or clichéd sentiment. This usage began in the mid 20th century; for example, in Francis Brett Young's novel Mr. Lucton's Freedom, 1940:

Mr Baron....to coin a phrase...means to invent it....originate it....like Effendi for freediver.

"Buy the farm' is an existing known expression meaning to die.

Grin Grin Grin  you are quite ridiculous

This "coin a phrase" thing, namely Effendi, hasn't caught on. Grin No doubt Arseee is perturbed about that. He is a very trying person.   Grin

just dont call setanta set... thats a huge No No..

the way that nickname sounds is quite rude to be honest...I thin k it demeans fd... but I am sure thats the intent anyway..

lol the funny thing is the Set thing is catching on- setanta is a bit dificult to type- but aussie tries a few on and none of them have ever caught on yet- one of his little cute things caught him out and he doesnt even realise but will keep him guessing on that one

tic toc...BACKDOWN

Photographs have been released of North Korea’s leader Kim Jong-un visiting an army command and appearing to review its plans to strike the area around Guam with four missiles.

The photos, released with a report from the North's KCNA news agency, come as the leader said today he would hold off a planned missile strike, warning he would go ahead in the event of further “reckless actions” from Washington.

KCNA said Mr Kim was briefed on the “plan for an enveloping fire at Guam” during yesterday’s inspection of the Strategic Force command in charge of the nuclear-armed state’s missile units.

During the visit, he was photographed looking at a map while being briefed by military officers.

Mr Kim is shown sitting with other generals including Kim Jong Sik, a veteran rocket scientist behind North Korea’s missile programme, in a war room where other maps of operational zones in South Korea and Japan are hanging on a wall.

Some analysts suggested Mr Kim's comments today opened a possible path to de-escalating a growing crisis fuelled by a bellicose war of words between US President Donald Trump and the North Korean leadership.

Their recent exchanges were focused on a North Korean threat to fire a volley of four missiles over Japan towards the US territory of Guam, which hosts several strategic military bases.

But Mr Kim said he would "watch a little more the foolish and stupid conduct of the Yankees" before executing any order. If they "persist in their extremely dangerous reckless actions on the Korean peninsula," then North Korea would take action "as already declared," he was quoted as saying.

"In order to defuse the tensions and prevent the dangerous military conflict on the Korean peninsula, it is necessary for the US to make a proper option first," he added.

South Korean President Moon Jae-in said today there would be no military action without Seoul's consent and his government would prevent war by all means.

"Military action on the Korean peninsula can only be decided by South Korea and no one else can decide to take military action without the consent of South Korea," Moon said in a speech to commemorate the anniversary of the nation's liberation from Japanese military rule in 1945.

"The government, putting everything on the line, will block war by all means."

Mr Kim's latest announcement follows a week of heated exchanges between Pyongyang and Washington and a threat from North Korea to fire missiles into the ocean near the US territory.

North Korea's state media yesterday said Mr Kim is on the verge of being handed missile plans and cautioned that continued perceived US provocation could "lead to a nuclear war".

Last week Mr Trump declared the US is "locked and loaded" and ready to unleash "fire and fury" if North Korea continues to threaten America and its regional allies.

Yesterday, residents in Guam were rallying for peace in the face of possible North Korean missile strikes.

"Peace, not war, that's what our island is for," protesters chanted during the gathering at a park in the island's capital. A top US military officer currently in South Korea maintained the United States wants to peacefully resolve the standoff.

However, Marine Corps Gen. Joseph Dunford also underlined the US was ready to use the "full range" of its military capabilities in case of provocation.

There has been widespread debate about whether Washington would try to shoot the four intermediate-range Hwasong-12 missiles down if they're fired.

The North accused the United States of mobilising a huge number of weapons and troops for annual military drills with South Korea that begin later this month.

Pyongyang, which claims the drills are war preparation, says it will be ready to send its Guam missile launch plan to North Korean leader Mr Kim for approval just before or as the drills begin.

"What matters is that if a second conflict (on the peninsula) erupts, that cannot help but lead to a nuclear war," the North's official Korean Central News Agency said in a commentary.

"We are closely monitoring every move by the United States."

The US-North Korea impasse, which has simmered since the end of the Korean War in 1953, has grown more tense in recent months over worries that the North's nuclear weapons program is nearing the ability to target the US mainland.

Like Trump, most of what Kim says is for domestic consumption. Announcing an attack ahead of time, and while there is peace in the region, was always unlikely, but I suppose he still might do it. No one in their right mind would. His announced decision is not really a back down or a loss of face. No one anywhere thought an attack on Guam was a good idea. The worry-warts are relieved and Kim goes and gets another manicure knowing he can rattle everyone any time he chooses.

What we have witnessed is a major change in the behaviour of Kim Jong un

For the very first time someone and that someone is Donald Trump stopped him in his tracks

The World IN THIS INSTANCE should thank God for Donald Trump being tough and strong enough to call that madman Jong's bluff

Jong un will remain as stable as a hunk of gelignite however he is under no illusion that should he strike anyone, his Country will be decimated by the overpowering military might that the U.S. has in spades

Jong is a minnow in comparison albeit one with a growing nuclear capability

This isn't over by a long shot

Trump tweeted that Jog un "had made a wise decision in not firing his missiles'

That's tantamount to Trump throwing a bone to a dog...I'm sure that Korean melon head will chew it up

Bugga, I was looking forward to Kim Kong having his head blown off.
Meanwhile he continues on his merry journey towards being a nuclear power and is unstoppable, eventually one of his missiles will be pointed in our direction. Look out Darwin.
