My understanding is that you can have cycles of hot or cold weather in any given cycle- hot or cold a warm winter doesnt not global warming make- nor does it make globaling cooling- but if I had to choose between the two I go with cooling- for the good of the world and because I believe it to be so- climate change is not man made as far as I am concerned and we are not headed for disaster - the seas will only rise by something like 20% if all the ice melts we wont lose much of the available land for habitation even if that happens- but it will force us to live in harmony wether we like it or not

Not just icemelt raising sea levels, the seas heating up causes them to expand. I think sea level rise is going to cause uncountable amounts of damage and loss to coastal cities, ports, coastal agricultural infrastructure and so on.

And, unlike an ice age I think this will happen.

3000m deep ice on Greenland, more ice on Antarctica (the western part of which has started sliding into the sea) and more ice in the Himalayan ice sheet. And the two charlies forgot about the expansion of the oceans.

Remember Hurricane Sandy? Flooded the New York subway. If the world had not warmed by 1.1°C since 1850 sea level would have been less and the storm surge caused by Sandy would not have reached inland as far and in the volume it actually did.

So even if sea level rise itself would not actually cause flooding by itself it would cause storm surges to be higher and flood further inland in higher amounts of sea water.

So give us the expansion rate of sea water for 1.1°C. Of course you know the paucity of data means those figures are probably wildly inaccurate?

You do know storms release a lot of water? And subways by their very nature are underground? Just like a big drain. They even have access points in the roads.

we are going to lose most of the big coastal cities- Shanghia-Beijing- Hong kong- Tokyo ( not sure) and most Indian cities ( they all need a good flushing lol) and most Asian coastal cities - a lot of the coastal cities in the US- and in Europe-

The great thing is the management of the rising seas and dis located populations will start long before they get to a critical level- man will adapt to this situation- things will change drasticlally but we will manage all the challenges that come our way because they will happen gradually- the planet will heat up but I dont believe it will become so bad that we will be living in a furnace- ice can only melt once
