Can't see your eyes!
Jul 26th, 2017 at 10:29pm

The other day while reading my tablet a message came across the top of the screen. "I am having trouble seeing your eyes".  It appears that when you look at your tablet or phone they look back. So all you folks who take your device to the toilet may be stars in a "best of" at the NSA or your countries equivalent. My devices all get a sticker placed over the inward facing camera as soon as I get them.
I turn my cellphone GPS off unless I want to use the map feature because they ask for reviews of businesses I have been to. My wife made a Pet of her Serama Rooster and we took him to a Vet who treats exotic birds. This Office shares a parking lot with a Japanese restaurant so my Cell asked for a review of the food. I stated that the Chicken was good, the Staff professional and the prices fair.

You wouldn't believe what else there is out there.

That's obviously not a comprehensive list, but it might make you think about what you connect to the 'net. It will probably get much more interesting when we go full ipv6 and every device has a internet routeable address.

Welcome to the Spider Web.
Were you attracted by the sweet smell of Entertainments and 'Escapes'?
Well you're caught in the 'sticky' now.
You can check out any time you want,
but you can never really leave.

Soon, the Spider will come and get you.

"Smart Stay" which is mainly an Android "eye-tracking" function that detects eye moment in order to keep the display on while, say, reading a digital book (or, in most cases when it comes to you cretins, porn) is nothing new. Every pile of crap Apple or Android (Samsuck) tablet I've owned I blocked out both front and rear cameras. bugger them.

The podcast Cyberwire did an excellent piece on IoT devices and how easily they can be manipulated and how the manufactures are really not concerned with security risk they can bring and how this issue is largely ignored.

This goes from simple hacking to ransomware and how any IoT device you own that uses them from your tablet to your car can be compromised and how that can endanger your life. It's really worth the listen:
