37% of cars sold in Norway are electric !
Jul 24th, 2017 at 11:26am

And here's why !

  • Abundant Hydro electricity
  • Free use of over 2000 charging stations
  • Free registration for EV's
  • Free parking for EV's
  • Tax incentives for purchasers of EV's

All subsidized using the proceeds of Norway's 1 Trillion dollar sovereign wealth fund !!

This is socialism at its best unlike the capitalist rubbish we have here which gives all of OUR resources and gas away to foreign pirates for a song and then we have to borrow borrow borrow to make up for it because simply we don't have a sovereign wealth fund of any worth that serves the public Sad Of course we can't have all of those concessions for electric cars because the government has to continually rip us off at the fool bowser with foreign oil imports Sad What a joke we are in Australia. What a joke !!

"Many European experts and industry representatives see the Norwegian model – minus the whopping subsidies – as a sign of where European electromobility is heading. "

https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2017/feb/07/power-to-the-ev-norway-spear...

"In Septem[url]ber 2016, 28.8% of new car sales were plug-in electric vehicles and all-electric cars had 19.0% market share. It’s 10 times what most countries are doing these days thanks to EV incentives like the 25% VAT tax exemption."

https://electrek.co/2017/02/15/norway-electric-vehicle-market-share-record/

Nothing like a level playing field.

It is easier for Norway or many European to adopt the model than it is for Australia.  Australia is simply too big to have this adaptation.  Perhaps in the major cities like Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.  But out in the bush its not very viable at this stage.

Want to drive to Trondheim from Oslo?

EVs make good town cars but not useful for other things.

Subsidies for EVs are justified by reducing GHG emissions.

In a time of universal deceit — telling the truth is a revolutionary act.

No evidence whatsoever it can be attributed to George Orwell or Eric Arthur Blair (in fact the same guy)

And plus if it breaks down, the bush mechanics would be like whats this?  I remember, one year, my grand parents went 4WD to Cape York.  One of their fellow travelers from North Sydney in their flashy Range Rover decided to switch to 'limp' mode.  And the head office would not turn it back on for them.  Instead asking them to take it to the nearest authorized repairer in Brisbane.  And they worked out, to get there on 20-40km/hr, travel none stop, it would take a couple of weeks time.   Cheesy

Using Nails logic, I suppose the pump price in the land of the Viking and Valhalla being about $2.50 ltr wouldn't be an incentive. Talk about the fool's bowser some more.

The only thing the Norwegian sovereign wealth fund has done is ensure that the locals pay double for just about everything. One of the highest taxed countries on the planet where cucumbers are sold by the slice. If I was a Norwegian I'd be ropeable.
