If you live in a place with high crime buy good insurance.  It's just stuff and not worth risking your life over.

I'd also be curious if the driver was previous a victim of property theft. Perhaps he was being victimised by local kids and he lost it.

This is a good enough starting point.

Now how about the other half of the equation?

You wanted to know the difference between manslaughter (involving death by vehicle) and dangerous driving causing death.  That link has a good enough explanation.

So.....what 'other half'......are you referring to?

So we let criminals do whatever they want without intervening. Genius.

Nope.

Difference in sentencing between dangerous driving causing death and manslaughter. The example given was -Of course in the Rowe case the bloke got 5 years after killing Rowe with a cricket bat. He plead guilty to manslaughter.

Now the dangerous driving causing death one he got 3 years out of a maximum of 7.

In the Rowe case he got 7 years out of 20.

It seems the dangerous driving causing death attracted a slightly heavier penalty.
