I didn't argue for people voting for or against "progressive taxation". What we can't agree is whether your idea of progressive taxation is slavery. You keep making it a "statement" when really it is an "opinion" of which few (other than Joe Hockey) supports.
You belittle and lessen the meaning of the word "slavery" - that those in history who were indentured, or kept under inhumane conditions are equivalent to you and your first world lifestyle.
Perhaps you mean to say that progressive taxation is "unfair". Well, there's a who debatepedia on this. And it does look a grim society - perhaps which is why no serious person thinks a society will remove it.
I believe that my question to you was....

...so what's your understanding of 'real' slavery?
I'm not discussing fairness or unfairness due to the fact that being fair or unfair is immaterial.
Yes progressive taxation is 'fair' from a community perspective, and from the perspective of low income earners and
consenting high income earners. That is why it's the staple tax system of most societies...........doesn't actually make it fair on the individual being robbed of his hard earned......doesn't make it right.
Mind you so-called 'Democratic' societies have also tolerated 'traditional' slavery, for example, the pre-civil war US. The majority of people thought it was perfectly ok to enslave black people, so they did.......didn't actually make it fair on the individual being robbed of their liberty......didn't make it right.
