For those that are interested in newer firearm releases, here is a latest entry from Japan:

The Howa HCR Chassis Rifle (link)

To the non-Gunner it probably looks spooky, like the terrifying AR-15 hunting rifle, but it handles all the accessories with precision.....which only the game/varmint/feral hunter can appreciate. With the right glass, pop that fox or wild dog at 800+ meters with resounding ease, while not disturbing his mate standing close by.

Now, just to see what our cousins across the bigpond are able to use for Self-Defense......

This can't be used here for Self-Defence, because using any firearm expressly for Self-Defense purposes is absolutely illegal here, but in the following video we can see what our American cousins might find handy loaded & leaning against the wall next to the bed-stand.

Why you ask? ......... Because intruders don't ring yer doorbell........that is unless their daddy was also their older brother!
