WA Labor Budget - Prices UP.
Jun 23rd, 2017 at 11:26am

Who would have guessed?

"The increases will see a rise for a regular household of 7.7 per cent across the board, with an electricity increase of $169, 10.9 per cent on top of last year as a result of a doubling in the fixed charge.

Water and sewerage charges will increase by 6 per cent, and there is a 1.8 per cent rise in public transport, while students travelling on buses and trains will pay 70¢.

Overall, the average household will pay almost $500 extra a year.

Seniors will cop one of the biggest hits, with reductions to discounts on water and rates."

That's why rhe west was saying it was $60 more than the libs were talking about.

"The government inherited record state debt - the highest debt-to-revenue ratio in the nation - of more than $30 billion and a record deficit, but Mr McGowan promised before the election that he would not impose new or increased taxes, contradicting Mr Wyatt who would not commit to that."

Blind Freddy could see the budget was in trouble before the election. You mean Labor couldn't? Doesn't say much about their smarts.

Mcgowan should have targeted Liberal voters for increased taxation, they caused the financial mess. They could get Gina Rhinehart to pay a fat tax, that would balance the budget.

Everyone. There was no where else to go. Libtards left the state in such a shambles governments (irrespective of lib or lab winning) were always going to increase fee's to try and cover some of the losses.

Don't tell me you honestly believe the libs wouldn't have done the same?  Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

I doubt the electorate at large look at it that way. But good attempt at justification. Wink
