I agree.. didnt know they could immigrate anyway....I thought it was open borders between us.....

I love the KIWIS....they are good decent people....they have goodies and baddies just the same as we do....

and dont think a lot of aussies dont live in NZ because they do.
No its not open borders, and NZ inflow into this country has dropped substantially since immigration started getting tough on convicted criminals entering Australia from new Zealand. Deportation is now automatic for Kiwis committing many criminal offences so this is also detracting to the net inflow here, things can only get better as there are literally thousands of Kiwis in our prisons now awaiting deportation after serving their time so expect net immigration to drop even further in the coming years. Australia has long been seen as an easily accessible destination for the criminal element in NZ, that is now changing.

That's old Houso myth Bobby.
Like Victoria being called 'Mexico' (when in reality they are more like South America - skipping Mexico and Central America completely!)

NZ was never a 'part' of Australia, though many 'egos' in Australia thought otherwise.
NZ is a part of the Region of Oceania.
Australia belongs to the Region of Sahul.

NSW is more like the 'defacto' wannabe NZ.
If Kerry & James Packer were Kiwis - they would be great Academics, instead - they only make it to process-white-collar workers in a tie with the word 'Business' only.

Yes - 'smart' Alternative Australians are moving to NZ because it is still approachable to a lifestyle of Australia as it was very long ago. Laid back.

Any 'city' in OZ or NZ (even South Africa & Argentina) is expensive to live in (in Sydney's case, severely over-priced for what you get, but people are dumb-enough to pay for it).
Try living outside of the major cities.
Maybe even near a Town, that can still provide you with everything a city can, but in a less congested and time-wasting way.

I would live along the Westland (sth island) or near Wanaka or Te Anau. Even Oban in Stewart Island or Invercargill appeals to me. I love those wide spacious roads of open sky in Invercargill.

"Should we stop immigration from N.Z" ?

Yes. And the Middle east. Use selective immigration. We will decide who comes.

Well considering Australia has been so fixated on MONEY, MONEY, MONEY ...because of the 'poor convict' past.
Australia's 'self-sufficient' population growth has always been pretty pisss-poor (sexual recessions).
Australian women just don't seem designed for 'having kids' and the responsibility that goes with it.
Relationships are also based upon 'making money'.
In one year we had
Juliar Gillard as Prime Minister (ambitious to be the 'first female' novelty) in the name of Power superiority
Quentin Bryce as Gov-General in the name of (British) cultural superiority
Gina Reinhardt as Richest person in the name of financial superiority.
Typical Aust female role-models ever since Germain Greer took a stance against being a stay at home 'Mom'.

So, if it wasn't for IMMIGRATION, Australia really would be...
...TOTALLY GAY!  Cheesy

You have no idea how cold it is way down South in NZ.
No one wants to live there - in a refrigerator.
That's why most people live in Auckland.
