They had an opportunity to shoot him well before he started to kill people. A police marksman had him in his sights at the window of the Lindt Cafe and plate glass wouldn't have stopped the police marksman's bullet. It was not armoured glass. They waited too long.

That is contrary to the Coroner's findings.

They waited too long because of some psychologist's advice that Monis wouldn't kill.

police are not snipers....thats where they are now saying the Army should have been brought in  isnt hindsight a wonderful thing...

how do you know what a Police rifle is capable of ??

the police at a time like this have to be ordered to fire.....especially to kill....it isnt a fun thing they do every day you know.. and no they do not make those decisions..

I repeat: The greatest fear was panicking Monis into setting off a bomb. The whole operation hung on this one reasonable concern.

How about the Drongos that let him out on parole for starters.

He should never have been on the street.

from memory he said he had planted them all over the city.....so there would have been a few searches to be done.........you know none of us were there.. I would say not one of us have had hostage  experience in a situation of life and death......its time we gave those who where actually at the front line   a bit of bloody credit.

I know exactly what police marksmen are trained to do, you obviously do not. Guess what, marksman is just another word for sniper, the only difference is chain of command. A military marksman/sniper has carte blanche to take out any threat. A police marksman shoots on orders from his superiors.

Don't talk cr@p cods.

Oh yes, and the rifle used by both is the same, the ammunition is however dependant on the job.
