yeah I wouldn't cook either. Especially not fryers.

I remember back in the day.. I used to peel spuds etc... sacks and sacks of spuds, into the spud machine. One night they decided I should operate the fryers . This was in a really popular Pub, and I'd no experience............. Boy were they sorry.  Grin

A few days later I was told I was not needed. PHEW. What a relief. Smiley

We don't do any deep frying. The unhealthiest it gets is BBQ. We're trying to give people a good healthy meal.

sounds very healthy. Unlike much of the food available in big pubs. Mind you this was more than 20 years ago.

I reckon I'd enjoy doing what you do as well. Smiley

There might be somewhere in your space that you can look at doing that. If you like chopping shyte up, bring your own knives. I used to sharpen their knives, hid the best one away, but people continue to use them in ceramic dishes, stainless steel trays, plates, I gave up and brought my own. Someone even grabbed one of my knives and used it to cut cheesecake in a ceramic tray while I was out of the kitchen. My Gordon Ramsay moment!

I suppose I might seem a bit anal about them. Cry I hate blunt knives. My wife is a bit scared of sharp knives, I keep telling her they are far safer than dull knives. I bought her one from Japan that should arrive soon, got her to chop some stuff with mine and she admitted it was effortless to chop with it. She's a serrated knife kinda girl, but I'm hoping to convert her and allay her fears.

It's all in the technique. Just keep your fingers out of the way. Oh and don't rush. Smiley

Well... you hold the veg or whatever with the tips of your fingers, but ensure that your knuckles protrude further than the tips. The knuckles then act like a guide for the knife. Simple really. Wink

Wink I'm not going to get more suggestive than I have. I'll just say I'm glad the fingers have their place.

They are there to guide the tool, to grease it's path if you will.

Looks like I couldn't help myself.
