I agree totally issuevoter. When MTV kicked on so many great bands started to suck. One band that comes to mind is Dire Straits. They went from Tunnel Of Love and Industrial Disease to Twisting By The Pool and Money For Nothing. So many great bands destroyed themselves going for the buck.

Looks like we agree on yet another thing, Homo.

'Twisting by the Pool' might actually be worse than 'Dancing in the Street'.

That turned me off Mark Knopfler for many years.

In fact, I've only recently been able to listen to him again.

His new stuff is very different, but really nice. Let's just forget that abomination.

That vamp at the beginning of Laughs and Jokes etc, seems to be the 5-4 riff from Dave Brubeck's Take Five. I Particularly like MK's song The Mason Dixon Line, its getting on for a folk song.

Back to the MTV sell out musicians. Firstly Elton John. I know Bernie Taulpin wrote the songs but the music was unbelievable on the early tracks. Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, Mona Lisa's and Mad Hatters etc are great songs. Later on he puts out I Wanna Kiss The Bride. That song can kiss my ass. Another one is Bily Joel. He went from Pressure , The Stranger etc to bloody Uptown Girl. What's the go? Angry

But look at Neil Young. His music never got old. I can understand having nothing to say but if you can play like Elton John and Billy Joel then why let the music suffer? Most of the young current musicians can't play but at least it's interesting.
