Turnbull settling in
Apr 30th, 2017 at 12:25pm

I could be wrong, sometimes I am, not often of course (lol).
But I get the impression that Turnbull is getting to the stage where the people are happy with him in the job, that they see him as a safe pair of hands.

This hasn't happened for a while, in fact since Howard and before him Hawke.

Sadly Bogie, I think Turnbull is settling in to be dumped.   I don't actually mind him, but he has vicious enemies on the front bench who will get rid of him soon - that's what I am sensing anyway.  When the putrescent Julie Bishop comes out stating her support for the PM, you know his life span is short.

Yeah, Turdfull is doing things to raise his ratings so he can stay in the job a bit longer.

God knows what he is doing in Parliament being undermined by those sitting behind him. His heritage is a copper internet that is not fit for purpose and is harming our business community. He has a lot of money, go and enjoy it.

Unless he just wants to be PM even without freedom to actually be the PM.

Well Mal is being helped by the devious with the truth creep Snorten Shorten.

That's why Mal wants Shorty to stay on as "leader" of the corrupt unions and Greenies controlled Labor Party.

While Shorty is there Mal is safe.

Expect Newspoll to keep giving Shorty crazy boosts up till close to the election and then suddenly the floor will collapse under Shorty.

rubbish ... people have given up on turnbul. They may not be whinging as much about him because they've already resigned themselves to the fact that he is useless. It's like a person with terminal cancer one day stop askingg 'why me' because they've come to the realisation that that's it, there is no reason why, it just is. Doesn't mean they're suddenly happy with the cancer.

Mr Smith.

when A Lefty loses an argument the standard tactic is to ATTACK THE DAMN POSTER.

So U R performing to type. Y don't you accept defeat graciously and enjoy the rapidly growing prosperity in Australia as Mal works his magic.

But U might have to pick some fruit from time to time.

Here is Turdfull’s “legacy”

Quote:
Australia slumps to 51st in internet speed rankings - behind Sri Lanka and KENYA
Internet speeds Down Under are disappointing compared to developing nations
Australia's speed is slower than Kenya, Bulgaria, Taiwan and Romania
Slow internet is due to the country's large rural population and lack of NBN
Australia was in the top 50 two years ago but was pushed out by faster regions

And Mr Smith is getting churlish at getting caught out.

My Gosh! The Lefties have gone into meltdown!

Lefties only look at the spending side of things which translates into how much WELFARE they can get.

No self respecting Lefty EVER thinks about EARNING anything to pay for their unsustainable unproductive Socialist Welfare.

But Mal is following Trump's example to produce a balanced economy with lots of attention paid to EARNING and REDUCING SPENDING especially unsustainable unproductive WELFARE which is evil.

With an almost universally approved budget under his belt, a community perception that here is a responsible centre government for a change and nothing on the horizon in terms of party divisions, Turnbull is now clearly well placed to pick up another election. He might even go a bit early.

The only thing that could be unsettling, apart from war or another GFC (don't rule that out), is the demise of Bill Shorten.

Unless he has the numbers locked up in some mysterious way, he appears destined to be dumped. That opens the way for Albanese maybe although whether the factions would allow someone from the left to be leader is a big question.
Now Albanese is a different kettle of fish. A strong & passionate speaker, one might even say a dominant personality, he could be a big threat to the government.
Or could he? I have a suspicion that he might let his mouth run away with him one time too many.
Perception is everything in politics. If he shows the slightest sign of being a bit extreme it would be curtains for him.

Time will tell.

PS To those who will come back waving the current polls here I have just two words to say.
One of them is Hillary and the other one is Clinton.

Essential report asks lots of questions about how the Parties are perceived, what people think of the policies. Re the MTM the Niagara of spin from NBN Co is pretty indicative of how crap it is.

Wake up and smell the coffee, Boges, the Libs are going down big time in 2019. They DESERVE to be soundly thrashed for being a complete incompetent and corrupt shambles.

$60Bn just pissed up against the wall on stupid rotten too–thin Telstra copper. It can’t do the job, can’t handle the load.

$60Bn, Boges. Not $60m, $60Bn. And it all has to be ripped up and replaced with FTTH.

The spinners are now saying the whole towns put onto wireless internet are “lucky” that they are not worse off then metro areas. Bollocks! Wireless is the most congested form of broadband and many have trouble just getting a signal. With the ramp up of the MTM, with the PSTN/ADSL stuff being compulsorily switched off so people HAVE to use the FTTN crap the unhappiness with the MTM will grow exponentially. There are people around capital cities put on satellite as a cost saving measure—just how congested and unsatisfactory do you think satellite is as a result?

The economy is crap with a growing class of working poor, of people underemployed, can’t buy a house, casualised.

I would not be surprised to see the polls inch up another couple of points throughout the year. 56:44 suit you?

You think the ALP can change that? You think it's down to any one govt?
Our economy together with practically every other OECD economy is going through structural change because of the impacts of globalisation and technology. You think most of the people don't know that?

As for the NBN, that's not going to change votes very much. The world is going mobile.

Still preferred PM over Shorten by a LONG way.

Only because 10% of poll respondents nominate the incumbent PM by default.

You're very quiet on the two-party preferred polling, now why is that?  Huh

Oh dear, the mobile taking the place of fixed line nonsense. Hardly any data is moved by mobile devices. Most people use wifi to access the net using their mobile devices. Fibre optics also feed mobile wireless towers.

Now, the MTM rubbish may not have garnered much hatred just yet but this is going to change rapidly as the rubbish is rolled out and people are forcibly transferred to it.

As to the economy, yes a government can change it.
