Rules of the heater
Apr 27th, 2017 at 4:35pm

I grabbed the x4 Rinnai gas heaters from the store room and connected them around the house, and issued the heater use rules.

A heater must not be turned on unless tracky dacks, socks and a hoodie or similar are worn.

I expect the rules will be broken by the weekend

I would have thought someone as fabulously wealthy as you would have central heating?  Undecided

What? And it's incompatible with central heating?

Barely needs it. Gets the sea breeze in summer and  lovely NE sun in the morning.

Only the woosy girls ask for a bit of heat.

The only big old places around here with central heating are the ones which have been totally gutted. Mines still fairly original.

Hope this helps.

Tell me about it.  Woosey girls. I lived in Hanoi for 4 years and never turned on the aircon. I swim 365 days a year. Oh and I lived in Toronto, I need to take my woosey girls there in winter.

Moths. You haven't paid attention to why I said.
With socks tracky dacks and a hoody the heater is rarely needed. If you walk around in light clothes you may feel cold.

The clothing rule SHOULD ensure lower energy consumption which is my goal.

I'm a greenie, remember.

I just don't understand why someone so fabulously wealthy, and a greenie, would use 4 electric heaters in Autumn.

Surely the most environmentally friendly way to heat your home would be central heating run off solar or gas?

I mean, money isn't an option after all, as you keep telling us.

Who would rip their house apart to install central heating when you don't need it?

You don't need to tear your house apart at all. I certainly didn't.

And clearly you need it. You're breaking  out 4 fossil fuel guzzling heaters in April.

Yeah 1stborn asked about the lekky blanket a few weeks ago, I said June, and I won't budge. The dog can sleep on her bed if she wants tho.

Do you leave it on at night, I only let her turn it on to take the chill off the bed then turn it off.

She has lovely goose down doona. Sorry I didn't explain properly. She has a lekky blanket but I won't put it on the bed for a month. It's still 17 outside.

How is it that a tiny creature like my Aussie terrier cross can somehow take up the whole bed?

That's not a nice thing to say about Gordy's lack of central heating.

He probably can't afford it.

I suppose you think it's ok to taunt people for not being able to afford central heating?

I grabbed the x4 Rinnai gas heaters from the store room and connected them around the house, and issued the heater use rules.

A heater must not be turned on unless tracky dacks, socks and a hoodie or similar are worn.

I expect the rules will be broken by the weekend

We wear trackies now.

Plus bed socks and/slippers.

Why?

It's cold!!!!!

We have gas heating and it's lovely  Smiley

NB Currently on full blast too.

He's the richest man in Sydney, yet his kids can only use tracky dacks to keep warm.

I smell a rat.

Around here, the windows get closed, the blinds pulled down to keep the cold air from coming off the windows further into the room. The jumper, long pants and socks (shoes optional) are worn. The door to the toilet gets closed, and so too the door leading to the spare bedroom, to trap the warmth. Sometimes the beany gets put on. THEN a heater gets turned on if I still feel cold. Years ago, I would put a heater on if the weather was cold enough to make me shiver whilst wearing my shorts and t-shirt. Now I keep the place so warm, Antarctic stations want my guidance on how to better keep their research buildings cold-proof.

I caught the dog in front of the heater, sans tracky daks.

Thinking of a fitting punishment Smiley
