BOM wrong yet again...
Apr 26th, 2017 at 10:49am

Fair Dinkum...

does the Bureau of Meteorology ever get sick of being wrong??

and why doesn't the Main Steam Media ever picked them up for their forecasting lies??

they said that it was going to be a dry warm Autumn...

well guess what... parts of Australia have had their wettest April in 16 years...

but a few months down the track if you look back you'll see that those claims still exist like fact...

they said that it was going to be a warm summer.. it was bloody cold all summer long but looking back they said that temperatures were above average...

like WTF???  Shocked

Quote:
The BOM rainfall outlook for April to June points to below-average rainfall across the southern two-thirds of the mainland - with the exception of the east coast, which has a roughly equal chance of a wetter or drier three months.

equal chance of it being wither wetter or drier?? say what??  Shocked

Quote:
Climate outlook overview: BOM

April to June rainfall is likely to be below average over the southern two-thirds of mainland Australia excluding the east coast, and above average for the far north.

April is likely to be drier than average across the south and southwest of Australia, but wetter for eastern NSW, southeast Queensland and far northern Australia.

Daytime temperatures for April to June are likely to be above average for most of Australia, (forecasts are now for hail and snow) except parts of eastern and northern Australia.

Night-time temperatures for April to June suggest a warmer three months for many parts of Australia, except northern WA and the Top End of the NT, where cooler than average nights are more likely. Additionally, southern WA, southern SA, eastern NSW and Cape York Peninsula show roughly equal chances of cooler or warmer April to June nights.

check out this next article... we already know that its bloody freezing in Victoria at the moment and that more is on the way so now the BOM tell us that "its cold and wet" .. well thanks dickhead but we ALREADY know its cold and wet..  Angry

Quote:
GEELONG has had its wettest April in 16 years, and there’s more wintry weather to come this week.

An expected cold front overnight will possibly produce hail in Geelong and snow in parts of the Otways today, according to the Bureau of Meteorology

Senior forecaster Chris Godfred said it was time to rug up, while the bureau has issued a severe weather warning because of the storms and strong wind expected.

“We’ll have a quite strong cold front moving through during the morning (on Wednesday),” he said.

“The wind change will probably go through Geelong quite early, probably about 2am or 3am so you’ll get quite a few showers with that. There’ll be hail with it, could be squally thunderstorms at least during the morning, and then you’ll have to put up with a pretty chilly wind for the rest of the day, though the rainfall rate will start to moderate in the afternoon.”

so once again the BOM is 100% wrong...

I could have told them that rain was on the way a couple of months back when the Crows came in to nest...

and also recent sightings of Black Cockatoos flying by in our area...

these birds know when the weather is coming in and that its going to get cold and wet... the BOM should tap into that...

They were forecasting a cold snap for tonight and tomorrow. This afternoon was the first time in 3 weeks that I had a cold shower. Probably the last cold shower for the next 5 months. However, we did not have a warm day or cool night like we did over the last few weeks.

This thread should be retitled "Mechanic wrong yet again..."

You obviously have a political grudge against the BOM because you know sweet FA about the climate.

- Autumn isn't over yet. There is still 1/3 of it to go.
- local weather in Geelong can not be compared to seasonal climate of 2/3rds of the country
- April to Jun forecast is only one month in. Once again you are confusing local weather with a 3 monthly national forecast
- forecasting deals in probabilities, they are not psychics
- Sydney had its hottest summer on record and even Melbourne  had an above average summer. The only reason that people like you think it was a cold summer is that we have had so many above average summers in the past 20 years that you expectations have been raised.

By all means keep posting mechanic, because all you do is make your side of politics look foolish

utter bullshit...

like I said above... this cooler weather has been mostly Australia wide...

and if anyone is telling you Melbourne was above average then they are bugger** lying..

Quote:
VICTORIA’S alpine region has been sprinkled with snow as a cold snap continues to sweep the state.

Yesterday was the coldest February day on record since 2005, reaching a high of only 17C, nine degrees lower than the average temperature for this time of the year.

Despite it being summer, Mount Hotham, Falls Creek and Mount Buller all saw snowfall overnight with temperatures dropping as low as -2.2C.

Quote:
In 2016 Perth had one of the coldest winters in decades, now we might be experiencing one of the coldest Summers in memory!

Melbourne
December 2016 average 25.5     long term average 24.2
January 2017 average 26.5         long term average 26.0
February 2017 average 25.9       long term average 25.8

http://www.bom.gov.au/climate/averages/tables/cw_086071.shtml

So every month of summer was in fact above average. I've also given you links to the data so if there is any days that you disagree with please point them out.

The truth is Mechanic is that the string of hot summers we have had has raised your expectations.

Yep been cool up here(Fraser Coast) for at least 4 days.

Yesterday 10 degrees here at 10 am is pretty cool.

When Darwins daily temps are from lows of 22 to highs of 27 that's cool for up there.

And when they have a record low of 18 for April then it
jumper weather up there.
