She preferred to make a living on the laurels of her past glories than actually get a job and stop bludging on people she once worked with.

I believe she may have been an un-diagnosed schizophrenic.

In the end she was practically a Bag-Lady with nothing left attractive about her at all. She had little else going for her except drugs to blot out the hideous mess she had made of her life through immaturity, laziness, and bad choices.
