we can either train them ourselves (because we keep getting told how technologically advanced) or employ the Aussies that are already trained as most of the jobs have been unskilled...

bullshitten increased 457 workers by 2/3 and blamed the mining industry..

truth was... only 10% went to the mining industry...

the rest went to Macca's etc...

he sold out Australian Workers including our young children trying to get work after school etc...

what an rsole...

and only an sole would vote for him... Angry

Relax people, nothing much have changed. It is being replaced by not one, but two visa types. And the company side labor force test remains. So for critical 'skilled" shortage, its still 4 years. For... erh.... 'lower skilled" shortage, its 2 years - which means just fill extra form and pay extra $$$ every 2 years.

Easy .... A Chinese cook who works in a kitchen doesn't need to speak English properly, he has no customer involvement. In another case, I knew of 4 Vietnamese aluminium workers who were bought over from Vietnam for 12 months for a particular job, they didn't speak English, but as long as they could read their schematics and weld properly they didn't need to. You live in an area were half the businesses and their staff don't speak English properly, and still you ask such a stupid question. Open your eyes, look around.
