Splendour in the park

Bluesfest

Tamworth Country Music Festival

I'm sure there are others.

Your problem Herb is that you live your life from the confines of your bedroom, looking to google as your guide. Get out there in the real world, you'll find life is very different to how you see it

Indeed, 'Woodfordia,' every 'Christmas' at Woodford, Sunshine Coast.  Google it Herbert, it is a massive event.  Bob Hawke holds Court there every year, for example.

Yes - I forgot the Tamworth country music knees-up AND the Parkes(?) Elvis festival.

But ... I'm really talking about a Woodstock kind of festival. Drugs. Intercourse in the mud. Fellatio on stage. etc etc

That's interesting. Why the hell is it never given any publicity down here in Sydney?

There's also a jazz festival once a year somewhere, or has that faded away too?

I think there are dozens of festivals Australia wide each year!

Even the Annual Folk Festival here in the ACT every Easter!

Heard a funny story on the radio this morning about the cops nabbing some guy trying to gain entrance to a pop festival in the last week or so (cant recall where),

anyhow he was trying to smuggle drugs hidden among a bag of dog treats.

Only problems

1. He didnt have a dog

2. To make matters worse the drug dogs busted him!

They have just completed a heavy metal festival in Alice Springs over the Easter weekend. There are usually some kind of festivities somewhere in the country.

The problem is Herby, the Aussie music festivals are never advertised in the Daily Mail or on the Pickering Post so you never find out.

Doesn't Bluesfest at Byron Bay count. Its huge, and not just blues music. Anyway, I have had it with crowds.

I've never heard of it, and so what this means is that it doesn't even register a blip with the mainstream media.

What it probably means is you need to get out, more often.

At most, it means I'm not watching enough television to catch news of these forgettable events where drugs help to reduce the pain of losing their hearing.

And then we have 'singer'
(sic)
Jimmy Barnes turning up to some of these poorly-advertised outdoor concerts screaming, shouting, hollerin', and vomiting into a microphone attached to 1000Watt speakers.

There have now been several generations which haven't the vaguest clue what real music sounds like, and who believe that 'music' only needs to be noise pumped out at high volume enough to wear out the cilia in their cochlea.

Jimmy Barnes and Co should be in SuperMax jail as having been life-long audio-terrorists.

All I hear coming across the road from the young couple renting the property is ...
THUMP ... THUMP ... THUMP ... THUMP ... THUMP ... THUMP ... THUMP ... THUMP ... THUMP ... THUMP ...

I have no problem with Ghetto Blasters in moving cars that are here one moment - gone the next.

Or a barking dog in a moving car ...

Or someone using a chainsaw or jack-hammer in a moving car ...

We've got a Gray and Thespian Mardi Gras coming up here soon...

I love the ghetto blaster music systems that make the back wheels jump off the road with every bass beat....

"Excuse me, sir - didn't you hear my siren?"

"Whaaaat?"

Never heard of them. Santana - yes.

That's most definitely the type of concert I was thinking about, but the PR agency should be taken to court for receiving payment under false pretences.
