What was he doing on the streets in the first place?

"Potter bludgeoned, decapitated Wollongong woman

In 1981, Potter was found guilty of murdering Kim Barry in Wollongong, while he was working there as a coalminer.

Potter bludgeoned the 19-year-old, cut up her body and dumped it below Jamberoo Mountain Lookout. He served 18 years of a life sentence.

In 2010 after being charged for conspiracy to murder he was granted bail, despite opposition from prosecutors.

Two years earlier he was extradited to Victoria from Tasmania on federal charges relating to the seizure of nearly four-and-a-half tonnes of ecstasy found in tinned tomatoes shipped from Italy.

The courts the judges and the grubberment of our country are all too far up their own rectums to consider doing the right thing.

Either that or they are corrupted or afraid of the criminals.

This sort of thing happens far to often.
