Ummm you do realise its not about limiting free speech right? Its just that some content can be disturbing and people have to be prepared for that.

In a time of universal deceit — telling the truth is a revolutionary act.

No evidence whatsoever it can be attributed to George Orwell or Eric Arthur Blair (in fact the same guy)

You would think that they should know what their course entails and be prepared before they even sign up to it.

edit: Check out the things on this list.

it also suggests   it will stop people reading further if its a topic they disagree with..

a bit of head in the sand stuff there....

so basically if you were trying to un radicalize someone by getting then to read an alternative ... they could refuse..... Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes..

boy its seems almost immature to me...

even giving warnings about "explicit" on TV.. sorta stops at 15......

gawd what next... warning about talking to strangers..

It's mostly pushed by student unions and not faculty.
Does that tell you anything?

Anyway, I'm going to set up a company designing safe-spaces for universities, calming wallpaper, puppy videos etc.

I'm going to cash in on the fragile dollar.

The thought police are coming.

Soon everyone will refuse to even speak to anybody.

This is getting beyond stupidity.

This is simply unhelpful.

We all want to be strong ....right?
We all want to be mentally tough...right?

How do you get that way except by going through the fire?

You want to expose yourself to maximum pressure and then you become a diamond, you dont want to be a clod of soft mud.

pardon the horse training analogy, but when i am training a horse, i expose it to every bit of stress i can find, motorbikes, flags, gun shots, whip cracking, chainsaws,
the more stuff you throw at them, the more bomb proof, the more resilient and the safer they become.

This is a recipe for disaster.

The narrow road to success already had only a little bit of traffic. soon there will be nobody but me and my family climbing it, becoming strong , powerful and influential and looking down at all those sad , butt hurt, cry babies at the bottom...how pitiful

Because we weren't triggered into an hysterical blubbering mess.

Being a socialist soft cock is not a prerequisite to a tertiary education. In fact it helps if you are not constantly offended or fighting for social justice with getting distinctions instead of conceded passes.  Smiley Smiley

exactly Gordon .

LOL

I saw the item on 7.30 Report last night....

LOL

Wow!

Our society/culture is producing 'soft cocks' [who will be dependent on 'viagra' ? LOL! ]

Is this 'desirable' ?

LOL

Our society/culture/universities are producing mentally dependent individuals [NOT independent thinkers],         they are producing individuals with 'uncritical' minds/intellects [NOT critical thinkers].

This is going to be our PC harvest folks!!!!!!

......courtesy of all of the PC, hard leftists, social experimenters, humanists.

LOL

And their 'children' are all going to be 'precious' little 'petals', aren't they !

LOL

Dictionary
critical thinking = = the objective analysis and evaluation of an issue in order to form a judgement.
    e.g. "professors often find it difficult to encourage critical thinking among their students"

.

Psalms 103:15
As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.
16  For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.
17  But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children;
18  To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.

Isaiah 29:14
Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid.
15  Woe unto them that seek deep to hide their counsel from the LORD, and their works are in the dark, and they say, Who seeth us? and who knoweth us?
16  Surely your turning of things upside down shall be esteemed as the potter's clay: for shall the work say of him that made it, He made me not? or shall the thing framed say of him that framed it, He had no understanding?

Because, in todays culture.....

'Up is Down, and Down is Up.'

Good is Evil.

And Evil is Good.

Black is White.

And White is Black.

No moral compass.

Unimportant.

Who needs to be able to judge the difference, between one thing, and another ?

Unimportant.

Dictionary;
discrimination = =
1 the action of discriminating against people.
2 recognition and understanding of the difference between one thing and another.   good judgement or taste.

AND;

Dictionary;
discriminating = = having or showing good taste or judgement.

Unimportant.

LOL

'Silly rabbit.'

Speak for yourself.
I was exposed to the hippy deadbeats, the " enlightened" do gooders, the weird and the strange that inhabited Sydney uni.

Most of the guys used these fringe groups to get chicks, many of whom were too weirded out to know shite from clay.

Others eventually woke up and finished their studies and realized what an idiot they were.

Some simply retreated into a state of continual and ongoing srupidity which still inhabits these unis everywhere.

Some even made it through their studies and became the teachers who again propagated even more stupidity.

This is uni.

This is UNInformed

University is about opening the minds of young adults so that they may be able to form an opinion on anything and everything in this world regardless of whether the subject matter is pleasant or distasteful.

This is a great way to produce young adults with a closed mind.

Funny that.

I thought they went to learn a profession and become responsible, intelligent contributing citizens.

Not a bunch or weirded out drug addicted under educated dim wits.

Its like the current school system.

They spend so much time of greeny lefties propaganda that they leave school and cant read or write.

Yep, teaching is Australia is great..............not
