Now Mcgowan has to pull money out of his arse to fix the debt problem. Barnett has left the state with a crippling debt burden. Mcgowan will have at at least 2 terms now, unless hes as profligate and corrupt as Barnett and his cronies, which I doubt.  Personally, I like Mcgowan, ex military, family man. Still lives in the bogan capital of Western Australia. Genuine person with a social conscience, unlike Barnett who should have been put on a burley hook himself like the scheme he came up with to bait sharks. History will judge barnett badly, and it should.

Kim Beazley in an interview the other day predicted that the economic benefits of the recent upsurge in mineral prices will be flowing through to WA society around 2-3 years from now.

If true, this is a particularly fortuitous election win for Labor.

Good luck with that.

Around 95% of Liberal voters nationwide vote 'Liberal' because they have always handled the economy WAAAYYY better than the State of federal Labor parties - always have and always will. The Labor parties are the party of Victimhood, the willfully Unemployed, the whingers and the moaners, the irresponsible and the bludgers.

You keep telling yourself that if it helps you to sleep better at night.

Barnett's government got tossed out because he DIDN'T manage the WA economy well. When Howard was enjoying the benefits of the mining boom at Federal level, we had Labor governments in every state and territory. Who gets the credit? When the Fraser government was tossed out of power in 1983, we had double digit inflation, double digit interest rates and double digit unemployment. Is that good economic management or bad economic management?

You have rocks in your head if you think taking money out of the hands of people who spend it in the local economy and giving it to people who stash it in offshore tax havens will somehow boost the local economy. Let me clue you in - it DOESN'T.

The Greens got almost twice as much as One Nation, which tells us that the WA voting public is full of sh!t. These are the people who want to de-industrialise WA and the First World nations so the Third World can do a bit of catching up with their own coal-fired industries.

Yes, Mcgowans economic management is however unkown and Barnetts only solution was to privatise assets. The deficit is still there.
