Ditto.

I predicted 35 seats, and a victory speech at 9pm.

I got pretty close   Smiley

Barnett is conceding, and it's not even three hours after the close of polls. A lot of Liberals have been reamed so hard they will be walking funny tomorrow.

Whoo-hoo. Labor's Cassie Rowe has won the seat of Belmont from Liberal Glenys Godfrey. Cassie took the time to promptly reply to an email I sent her a couple of weeks ago where I raised a few issues about the cost of living for people on lower incomes like myself. She (or someone on her behalf) was doorknocking that day and I wasn't home at the time.

I really think Glenys Godfrey (who is also a former Mayor of Belmont) shot herself in the foot with her ongoing 'crusade' to get rid of a lot of public housing in the area.  She claims there is too much public housing here compared with other suburbs and she wanted a 'balance'.

She even sent a letter to every public housing tenant in Belmont/Rivervale trying to explain her reasons. Yep, I bet that had the desired effect. NOT!

Guess who all the public housing tenants probably didn't vote for today?

And, Mr. Barnett - when you pee off nearly the entire State with increased charges... electricity, gas, water, car registrations, putting up the qualifying age for the WA Seniors Card, not increasing income limits for public housing tenants/people on the waiting list for nearly 11 years while you spent enormous amounts of money on things like a sports stadium and Elizabeth Quay then you really shouldn't be surprised when you get tossed out of government like you were today.

The best.

Come down to the Broken Hill tomorrow, and have a beer with our new Premier and Treasurer.

Now Mcgowan has to pull money out of his arse to fix the debt problem. Barnett has left the state with a crippling debt burden. Mcgowan will have at at least 2 terms now, unless hes as profligate and corrupt as Barnett and his cronies, which I doubt.  Personally, I like Mcgowan, ex military, family man. Still lives in the bogan capital of Western Australia. Genuine person with a social conscience, unlike Barnett who should have been put on a burley hook himself like the scheme he came up with to bait sharks. History will judge barnett badly, and it should.

I think that might be the subtext of this election result.

Good luck with that.

Around 95% of Liberal voters nationwide vote 'Liberal' because they have always handled the economy WAAAYYY better than the State of federal Labor parties - always have and always will. The Labor parties are the party of Victimhood, the willfully Unemployed, the whingers and the moaners, the irresponsible and the bludgers.
